Awesome! Thanks, Hyacinth. I'm happy this forum has experts like you.

I already dunked it last night and it's still drying. Hopefully I can re-dye it and restore it to its former glory.
It doesn't look like it needs redyeing to me. I bet it looks better just from the dunking. Several coats of conditioner and it should look great. That's an amazing find!

It does look better already from the dunking. The water was so dirty after cleaning it. I'm working on rehabbing a black Quincy bag as well. I enjoy finding these older leather bags at local thrift stores for a couple bucks. I need to be more confident in my abilities with British Tan, brown, and cream colors, though.

Incredible find, lucky you!

Hear hear! Hope to see pics on the Rehab thread after conditioning!

I am really confused about a Bonnie Cashin Kisslock doctor satchel that I saw on eBay, so I thought that you guys might be able to help me. The metal Coach tag on the bag doesn't have the silver border that is found on other vintage 60's bags, and the font and style seem to be different too. I've attached a picture of the Coach metal tag that I have.

The link to the bag is as follows: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252105928775?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Coach used a variety of labels in the early years. Some didn't have the lozenge border. I've seen this font before. Since this bag has the striped lining with the black stripes in between, it isn't one of the oldest. It was probably made in the late 60s.
