For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

You're welcome. Few Coach bags were made with solid brass hardware. Coach used it on some 70s bags and realized quickly how heavy it was. For the large buckles especially, they started using plated brass, probably in the 80s. Some styles in the 90s had solid brass but not this one. Generally, unless the bag has a unique serial number, you wouldn't expect to see solid brass on a classic style.

I'm not sure what they are using these days. The last few years, many bags had "light gold" hardware. Many bags for sale currently have the code IM for the metal, which some say stands for imitation metal.
Thanks for that information. I will pass this on to the seller and return the bag. If she decides to list it again, I will report it to Ebay and pass along the info to them as well:smile1:

Hi hope summer is going well for all

Exactly WHAT is someone claiming isn't authentic?

Any time someone starts squaking "Fake!", insist that they explain why they think it's fake. Don't let some idiot who's become an instant expert because they read some BS ten-year-old out of date "guide" on the internet, or because "they checked Coach's website and it wasn't listed" make you jump through hoops trying to defend your merchandise. Tell them to either prove their case (and some error-filed "guide" from some anonymous writer who Copied & Pasted it from some OTHER anonymous writer ISN'T proof!) or STFU. (Sorry, but I really get fed up with honest sellers being accused of selling fakes by some clueless nitwit who's fishing for a freebie or a discount, or even a competing seller trying to eliminate some of the competition).

There's NOTHING wrong with the wristlet in the listing. It's completely genuine and all the details are exactly right for that Signature Patchwork Wristlet style. The Sig Patchwork line according to Coach's Fall 2006 catalogs were "available in select stores" in the Fall 2006 season.

Been burned, Here is the picture of the creed you requested. Thanks agin.

If you posted a photo, it's not showing. Please make sure it's in the right format and fits the size restrictions.

"Been burned, Trying to upload a photo of the creed but I get an error message reggarding security. Not sure how to get the photo to you."

What EXACTLY does the message say? And where are you trying to copy the picture from?

The seller, mckoyladybug should refund your full original payment (including shipping) and because the bag is fake, she should also cover return shipping.

We recommend trying to work it out with the seller before opening a dispute but if the seller doesn't make you whole, you should open a SNAD dispute. For SNAD, return shipping is paid by the seller.

Thanks so much Hyacinth, I knew it was not fake but now days ebay is very tough on sellers
and I would rather just refund them then get one of those stupid defects. they even left positive feedback!
but If I do get the defect, may I quote you in my answer to ebay?
Thanks
RC
PS I would forward your answer to the buyer but you sure did rip her a new one LOL:woot:

I will reinforce Hyacinth to confirm that the wristlet is authentic.

Been burned, Trying to upload a photo of the creed but I get an error message reggarding security. Not sure how to get the photo to you.
If the image is too large, that could be the reason for the error message. You can either try resizing it or uploading to a photo hosting site like photobucket or similar and post the IMG link.

Please post her ID so those who sell Coach can block her ID and won't have to deal with unwarranted "fake" accusations.

You may definitely quote me. As for your buyer, if she questions my experience in authenticating, please point out to her my 20,000-plus posts here as a Coach authenticator, along with BeenBurned's almost 30,000 posts too. If she wants to explain her claim she's welcome to come here and do it.

Obviously, I'm not too concerned with the delicate feelings of people who deliberately put sellers through hell by accusing them of selling fakes. If the accusers don't like it when I rip them a new you-know-what, they should have their "fake" authenticated here or at Ebay's own Fashion Discussion Board before they start throwing around unfounded and unfair accusations.
