Thank you and be safe!

I have done research and believe this to be authentic but the longer I look at it the more I second guess myself! Can someone help with this Coach Pink Poppy Tote? Thank you.

Thanks, BeenBurned. I understand with the creed, you can only enter it into the computer and come up with something if it's a current style. Is there any way to find out about the #'s on an older style? or does that not matter? How do I find out what era this is? Is there a website of pattern styles somewhere? Thanks.

A creed having a "valid" serial number doesn't prove authenticity of the item it's on. Fakes can (and do) have valid serial numbers and often, the styles of those fakes match the style they're trying to copy.

The only thing a serial number can prove is that a bag is fake. If a serial is invalid or doesn't match the style of bag it's on, then the bag is proven as fake but it cannot ever (by itself) prove a bag is genuine.

That's why we need to see pictures of the item, the creed and often other parts of the bag.

There's some information about serial numbers here:
http://www.ebay.com/gds/Coach-Serial-Numbers-the-Basic-Facts-/10000000034886433/g.html
From this creed, you can tell that it was made in March 2010. This information is only useful if you know the bag is authentic. As BeenBurned mentioned, we need to see pictures in order to determine authenticity. Fakes can often have the correct numbers. Only by comparing details can we determine authenticity.

It's weird because before I even went to contact her this morning, I was scrolling through my Ebay purchases and noticed a message/notice from Ebay next to her listing on my purchases page.
Here is what it said:

"We had to remove this listing from the site and you're not required to complete the transaction. If you've already sent payment, the sale should process as normal and you don't have anything to worry about. If you have any questions about delivery, please check tracking or contact your seller. If you run into any trouble along the way eBay is here to help. Please visit the Resolution Center to help resolve any problems you may encounter."

Normally I receive these messages from Ebay BEFORE I've completed any purchases and I also receive a notification to my message Inbox, but this time it came AFTER I received the bag. ???
I don't know if maybe someone flagged this last night after my posts here or what. Unfortunately, I haven't checked my account in several days so don't know when this message came through.

Anyways, I sent a message to the seller this morning noting my convos here but so far have heard nothing back. Will wait and see.

Thanks again :smile1: for your help.
If you haven't heard within several days, you can open up a case. If she doesn't respond to the case, ebay will automatically decide it in your favor. Since the listing was removed, it appears you won't have to prove the bag is fake in order to get a refund, and you might not have to return it.

Hi all, I just started getting into vintage Coach bags and I think I went a little trigger happy with my latest purchase that was a very good deal (or maybe not!). I would love any help authenticating this bag :smile1:

Item name: Coach Madison doctor bag (I believe)
Length: 10"
Height: 7"
My key concern lies with the serial number on the creed, I was pretty sure that it was a random series of numbers in the format No xxx-xxxx. However, I came across an article that stated serial numbers starting with J are often fakes, and then that first number started looking more and more like a J. I asked the seller (after I already purchased it) to post or at least type for me the serial number and the only response I got was along the lines of "is there any problems, this is already packed". THAT then made me more concerned!

Thank you!

Is the bag in your possession? If it from an online site, please post the listing information and the seller name. From what I can tell from those pictures, the first digit is probably a zero. I don't see any problems.

Hi! Been quite a while. I have 30 pages to read to catch up on what has been going on here. Obviously, have not bought a lot of bags lately!

Please authenticate. Thanks.

Welcome back! Your link doesn't work. This is the correct link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111729611962?ru=http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=111729611962&_rdc=1

It looks good. It appears to be a Lightweights drawstring sac medium.

Thanks whateve :)

The bag is not in my posession, I bought it earlier today and seller has not yet shipped.

You're welcome. In the future, you can just post information and links to the listing. There's no need to copy the photos to upload them as long as it is on a site we can access.

Again, I don't see any problems. When you get it, you're welcome to post more pictures if you still have concerns.

By the way we have a rehab club for fixing up vintage bags, if you're interested. It's here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-clubhouse/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club-833400.html

OK will do :)

I've already started looking through that thread actually. there's a lot more comments than actual instructions so I'm going through slowly! Thanks again for your time, I appreciate your help!

Hi, first time to post here.. Can someone please help me confirm if this Coach bag is fake or not? Bought this on ebay few months ago. My fault that I didn't ask for more photos; just bought this on impulse.. The seller posted close up photos of the bag, creed, and the care cards.. But when I received it, I had a feeling that it's fake - because of the hang tag appearance, thinness of stitching and the leather - even had this weird leather smell :( Thanks!!
