If the accusers don't like it when I rip them a new you-know-what, they should have their "fake" authenticated here or at Ebay's own Fashion Discussion Board before they start throwing around unfounded and unfair accusations.

I've recently gotten scolded by a moderator for posting another seller's item on eBay's Fashion Discussion Board and the post removed. Apparently, it's okay to post authenticity questions about a product you have but NOT of a seller's. I've only asked for help on TPF since that happened with one exception. Seems like eBay would rather make sales than worry about a buyer's protection on the front end.

On a side note.... Sabastian finally got his own Coach dog collar.. that fits! Doesn't he look fantabulous?!

Hey all! So the purse I wanted originally was sold right out from under me. Could someone please help me authenticate this one? I see that it has some minor defects, but they don't seem bad at all. Thanks!

On the ebay boards, that's crazy but they changed the rules making it practically impossible for buyers to verify authenticity prior to purchase. Although sometimes item numbers will get through without slaps, the rules are now that you can't post links, item numbers, seller IDs, etc.

That's why the AT threads and ebay forum discussions are helpful here. We can post IDs, reputations, histories, etc. and as long as personal information isn't posted, it's allowed.

The collar is adorable.

The swaggers are extremely well-faked and more detailed pictures are needed for authentications.

The seller even mentions that the creed doesn't have a serial number but she neglects to include pictures of the serial number tag from the inside pocket as well as the country of origin label sewn into the seam on the lining.

Without detailed pictures, I don't recommend buying.

I posted here: Warning - Swaggers

Gotcha! I just asked for more photos and will repost as soon as I get them:) Hopefully I can authenticate it:)

Thanks so much Hyacinth, I knew it was not fake but now days ebay is very tough on sellers
and I would rather just refund them then get one of those stupid defects. they even left positive feedback!
but If I do get the defect, may I quote you in my answer to ebay?
Thanks
RC
PS I would forward your answer to the buyer but you sure did rip her a new one LOL:woot:
Unless it has changed recently, you receive a defect the moment a buyer opens a "not as described" return. It doesn't matter if the buyer is wrong. However, if you call ebay and get someone reasonable, they should remove it.

The seller, mckoyladybug should refund your full original payment (including shipping) and because the bag is fake, she should also cover return shipping.

We recommend trying to work it out with the seller before opening a dispute but if the seller doesn't make you whole, you should open a SNAD dispute. For SNAD, return shipping is paid by the seller.
It's weird because before I even went to contact her this morning, I was scrolling through my Ebay purchases and noticed a message/notice from Ebay next to her listing on my purchases page.
Here is what it said:

"We had to remove this listing from the site and you're not required to complete the transaction. If you've already sent payment, the sale should process as normal and you don't have anything to worry about. If you have any questions about delivery, please check tracking or contact your seller. If you run into any trouble along the way eBay is here to help. Please visit the Resolution Center to help resolve any problems you may encounter."

Normally I receive these messages from Ebay BEFORE I've completed any purchases and I also receive a notification to my message Inbox, but this time it came AFTER I received the bag. ???
I don't know if maybe someone flagged this last night after my posts here or what. Unfortunately, I haven't checked my account in several days so don't know when this message came through.

Anyways, I sent a message to the seller this morning noting my convos here but so far have heard nothing back. Will wait and see.

Thanks again :smile1: for your help.

I suspect that the listing was reported after it was posted here. There are a lot of lurkers who report the fakes when they get posted and confirmed as such.

In your seller's case, the account dings certainly were deserved. Not only did you get a fake Coach but she sold a fake Dooney too which was also removed.

Been burned, Thanks so much for your help. When are Coach bags considered vintage age? I hope it is okay to put this info. about the bag type and year on my ebay listing. If not let me know and thanks again. You rock!!!!
Although many sellers call their listings "vintage" if the items aren't currently on the designer website, vintage is considered to be at least 20 years old. Thus, 1995 and earlier bags are now vintage.
