IMPORTANT READ-ME

Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.
For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

Hello. I decided not to buy the cream bag because I just found exactly same bag but in nicer Red colour. Would you mind to help authenticate? I do understand if you can't because I just requested not long ago. But please consider. Thank you so much.

Item Name: Coach Vintage Red leather bag
Item Number: 221544566736
Seller ID: monalisa_creations
LINK: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bonnie-Cash...VTG-NOS-NWT-/221544566736?hash=item339515cfd0
This one is fine too, and it is gorgeous!

I know it's been mentioned before but I can't find the posts, sorry.
Is there an outside authentication service anyone would recommend?
Preferably a service that would be able to authenticate in case of an ebay dispute
for a bogus claim on a real Coach bag....and not a ton of money.
For now,
I want to get an MK bag authenticated and the rules in the MK forum for authentications are
tougher than getting into an elite Beverly Hills Country Club!
Thank you!

This listing is interesting and I'd like to hear other opinions.

Coach wristlet
item number: 252046406871
link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Signa...ndy-Stripes-/252046406871?hash=item3aaf22f4d7
Seller: apmj329

Comment: Seller had another very obvious fake that has been removed.

There are several bothersome details on this wristlet. Has anyone ever seen them on Coach items?

Although pictures are in the listing, I'm including them here:

The closest I can find is 5873 and there's a huge difference.
I've never seen that pattern on a snap on an authentic Coach and the presence of a creed is a big red flag. Also, a very weird place to put the Coach stamp on the buckle. Plus the way the silver is peeling and it is a light color underneath makes it look like it isn't real leather, or at least not the leather Coach used at the time.

I recommend authenticate4u. They have brand specialists, i.e., different authenticators for different brands rather than one or two "jack of all trades, master of none" authenticators as some other services have.

You're right about some of the other AT subforums. Some only do current listings, won't do just pictures, won't authenticate if they think someone is a reseller, etc. We're easy here!

It seems silly to alienate people if they already bought or own a bag, among other things.
THanks so much!!
Some of the brand AT threads are extremely busy so if they feel the need to weed out some of the bulk, they set their own guidelines. (Since authenticators perform their services voluntarily, they can pick and choose which listings they want to do, which sellers they refuse to authenticate for, TPF members who they might choose to ignore and for those authenticators who don't object, they can choose to do completed listings or not.)

I (personally) don't mind authenticating items after a purchase however if I feel a buyer is taking advantage and operating under the "buy now, do homework later" school of thought, I will stop authenticating that person's requests. It's unfair to other members, unfair to sellers and unfair to authenticators, IMHO.

Hi all! I stumbled on this gem at a thrift store about a month ago, and am looking to get more info about it. The creed stamp doesn't bring up ANYTHING when I search online.

Item: Black Leather Drawstring Messenger/Bucket Bag (unsure of name)
Seller: Me (MissMisguided)
Listing Number: 231648126832
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/231648126832?

I can't get the photos to upload but they are all included in the listing. I'm pretty confident in the quality of this bag but I just can't find any information about it based on its creed (which is hard to photograph, but the stamp reads O737 929). I am just looking for more information and confirmation that this is authentic. Any help is greatly appreciated! :) Thanks SO MUCH!!

Ebay's Rules also say that a seller has to be sure that their items are genuine BEFORE they list them. If you weren't sure the bag should never have been listed until it was authenticated.

Reading and understanding any site's Rules when you join or better yet, before you join, is important.

I think you can ask about your own items or listings at Ebay's own Fashion Discussion Board:

Hi - Please check this listing...was going to bid
but now I'm thinking something might be off about the
brown bag?
This seller is usually pretty safe I think, no?
seller: tjpreownedsales

I'm not really sure and don't have a real one to compare it to. There are a few small variations in the creed and serial but that's possible considering the year the bag was made.

Wait for more opinions.

I am SO very sorry! I thought I had read through the posted rules in the first post. I have ended the listing. The only reason I actually listed/posted it to begin with was because I couldn't get my photos to upload here, and I was reasonably confident that I'd get more information prior to any inquiry on the listing. I truly, sincerely, apologize.

I have had such great experiences with you ladies and your expertise in the past, I just was hoping to get your feedback. I in no way meant to cross boundaries.

No problem. The Rules here can be a bit hard to find sometimes.

You can post your own photos here before the item is listed, or you can post a link to whatever photo site is hosting them.
