Can you copy and post the sellers' photos of the creed stamp and serial number? Thanks!

ETA - But just as a warning showing why we never recommend buying from Poshmark sellers because the place is an absolute MINEFIELD of fakes...

the 9166 with the J4G- serial prefix may have what looks like an outlet stamp, but a genuine 9166 Legacy Drawstring will NEVER have a "4" year code indicating 1994 since the style wasn't even introduced until 2000. However, there's ONE big exception and that's for bags with a "4" year code made in Costa Rica. The plant there was forced to stamp a year code that was 10 years out of date (4 instead of 04) in bags made there in 2004.
Oh, nice to know. So based on those facts both seem to be fakes.IMG_7390.jpegIMG_7389.jpeg

Comments:
I have taken a look at the bag and I’m suspicious that it might be a fake bc No J8Y - 9166 is known to have fakes. It also looks like the 8 is upside down. Please help me authenticate it! Thank you in advance!

J8Y- serial prefixes are ALWAYS fake, no exceptions.

The thread below that includes the six indispensable Salearea Coach Guides also includes the old but still-useful-for-vintage-bags Daria48 Fake Coach Numbers List. I strongly recommend reading and even re-reading the entire thread, there's a ton of useful and accurate information in there. Updates and additions to the Fakes List are added to the thread as we find them in vintage bags.

Yes, both fake, unfortunately. While early production examples may show up with date codes a few months before they appeared in the catalogs or on the website, a full year before the official release date (Fall 2000) is just too much. Also, every "G" plant code found in bags with 1999 year codes found so far has been fake. The G plant code items always need a closer look.

I'm not seeing the outlet stamp you mentioned in your photo?

The font used in the J4D- fake was never used by the D plant, so that one has TWO strikes against it.

Politely Bumping and adding a these for ease.
Thank you.
(Sorry...I'm not a fan of marketplace and hate leaving sellers hanging)

Even when I'm signed into FB, their Marketplace listings don't work for me so maybe others have the same problem.

The photos you posted look good but please wait for more opinions.

Thank you for the resource, I’ll make sure to read it! Also I just noticed that I cropped out the outlet stamp, reposting the full picture on this post. Thank you once again! IMG_7391.jpeg

The outlet stamp could be fake, a Coach store would never stamp it where this one seems to be stamped. I can't even see the details. Outlet stamps from real stores can also end up in fake bags, so we never depend on them as proof of authenticity.
