Hello Authenticators. I hope you are having a lovely evening. I would truly appreciate your insight on this bag. I think I'm comfortable with the condition etc, but something about the creed feels iffy, despite the "legendary" Goodwill seal of approval.
Item: Authentic Vintage Coach Willis Black Leather Crossbody Bag
Seller: Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana
Listing #/ID:172545002
Listing:https://shopgoodwill.com/item/172545002
Thank you very, very much for sharing your expertise.
I'm not seeing a picture of the creed and if a company is issuing a "COA" without a creed picture, I question their accuracy!

good afternoon,

I'm purchasing a "vintage Coach bag" on Etsy. I have included the link of the bag below, which is the only info I have at this time. Seller states it is a Red Crescent Bag from the 1970's and has no creed or serial number inside. I wanted to see if someone can help me confirm if this bag is authentic? Appreciate any help, thanks so much!

link to the bag:

My computer can't open Etsy photos. Are there ANY photos in the seller's listing of ANY kind of Coach tag or stamping? Without any kind of permanent brand identification on or in the bag, there's no way to verify that it's a Coach product and no way to authenticate it. Any company can copy another company's bag or clothing styles as long as they don't copy the other company's name or logo.

The seller only says it's "Coach style" NOT an actual Coach. I strongly recommend against buying it especially if you plan on reselling it.

BTW, it's NOT the same style and doesn't have the same styling and construction details as a GENUINE vintage Coach Crescent Bag from the 1970s either.

THIS
is what a genuine 1970s-80s COACH Crescent Bag should look like, from a 1983 catalog:

9235_Crescent Bag-1983 Fall Catalog-c.jpg

ETA - IIRC, the general shape and details of the bag in the Etsy listing don't even appear in any Coach catalogs or adverts until the early 2000s.

Here's the 9235 Crescent Bag in a 1976 mini-catalog:

It's not even copying a crescent bag. If there's nothing that implies it's Coach then it's not a fake but instead, "designer inspired." It's definitely not made by Coach.

ETA: I don't believe that non-Coach bag is even made of leather. JMHO but you can find genuine Coaches and generic bags made of leather for less than the price of this one.

I'm sorry! I should have also linked the ***************** info. Hopefully this opens properly: https://*****************.com/verify?order=1688735324236x238935021779556060'
Thank you!

Please disregard my post above. The link to the Goodwill authenticator with creed is not working. I do appreciate your time and knowledge so much.
That company doesn't want its name mentioned on TPF so the forum software ****s out the name.

I don't click on QR codes but if you save and post the pictures, we can take a look.

Where purchased or how obtained: I purchased from this ebay seller
Comments: There is a typo in the creed patch. There is no space in between "handcrafted" and "in" so it looks like "handcrafted in". I'm not sure if this is normal or not.

Thanks for the photos, BeenBurned!
ETA - I thought the hardware looked a bit "off" and that too-short ball chain may have held a fake hangtag a t one time. It looks like brass-color buckles with silver strap grommets.

Not even CLOSE to a Coach. Calling it "Coach style" on a more trustworthy site like Ebay would have resulted in the listing's removal for Keyword Spamming if anyone had reported it. Etsy just doesn't care.

@ingiescloset, I hope you didn't already pay for it.

Hello! In addition to the one I posted above, could you also please authenticate these two bags? Both were purchased on Poshmark from @fransan9. The creed photos are attached as they were not in posted in the listings. Thank you so much for your help!

Both are fine. There is no such thing as a penny pocket. It's probably a pocket purse.

Hello! Can you please authenticate this bag purchased on Poshmark from @jillyh30? https://posh.mk/hL1M1oB8vBb - I do know it’s an outlet item with the circle logo. Would appreciate the name and approximate year as well if possible.
genuine city bag spectator made in 2001. You got a deal! These usually sell for much more. It was made for boutiques but this one was transferred to the outlet before it sold.

Hello Authenticators,

Comments:
I have taken a look at the bag and I’m suspicious that it might be a fake bc No J8Y - 9166 is known to have fakes. It also looks like the 8 is upside down. Please help me authenticate it! Thank you in advance!
