genuine city bag spectator made in 2001. You got a deal! These usually sell for much more. It was made for boutiques but this one was transferred to the outlet before it sold.
Thanks @whateve for your help on both of my posts - much appreciated! She said the spectator was her great grandmothers. Such a nice family heirloom to get rid of but I’m glad to have found it!

Comments:
I have taken a look at the bag and I’m suspicious that it might be a fake bc No J8Y - 9166 is known to have fakes. It also looks like the 8 is upside down. Please help me authenticate it! Thank you in advance!
You are correct. imayi's bag is fake.

She also has a fake wannabe Stewardess bag. (ETA: Oops, she sold that fake for $170! And she has the nerve to tell the buyer what a great deal it is! :( )

Item: 305015837897
Listing number: not sure where to find this; didn't see a separate listing number posted
Seller and site where listed: army*wife on ebay
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/305015837897
Comments: leery of prefixes starting with J** & this one looks to be J7E-4924. Male mag snap shows patent #4453294
Apologizing in advance for any mistakes I've made in this posting. You all are amazing & so generous in sharing your knowledge; know it must take an enormous amount of time. Thanks for any guidance.

I have found 2 more 9166s. First one is J9G - 9166 seems fine, cannot find anything suspicious and the second one J4G - 9166 has a bullseye stamp on the top right (of the creed) if I’m not mistaken… just wanted to run it by here as well for a second set of eyes since I don’t fully trust myself Thank you in advance!

Hi Authenticators,
I stumbled across this listing, but not planning to purchase it. Am I reading it correctly - stamped 4914? If so, this is a fake, correct??? Thank you!

Definitely fake! and "T"is NEVER a valid Coach month code.

Please report.

Need authentication for potential holy grail?
2005 purple coach city bag #9790
Not sure where to find item number
Seller is katpoochie1 on poshmark
Link: https://posh.mk/aP1mprt4yBb

Never posted here before but just started collecting purple coach! Want to double check before purchase

My computer can't open Posh photos. If you or anyone else can copy the seller's creed and serial number photo here as a "Reply" to this post I can take another look.

As a fellow lover of all things purple, I HOPE it's what I think it (2005 City Bag in Aubergine, which would make us Bag Twins) is but please wait for confirmation.

And PLEASE be warned that the seller KATPOOCHIE1 on Poshmark has listed and sold fakes before. A LOT of fakes:

https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...ost-for-format.889527/page-5063#post-35302880

Apparently she either doesn't bother to authenticate most of her items, or just doesn't care.

Can you copy and post the sellers' photos of the creed stamp and serial number? Thanks!

ETA - But just as a warning showing why we never recommend buying from Poshmark sellers because the place is an absolute MINEFIELD of fakes...

the 9166 with the J4G- serial prefix may have what looks like an outlet stamp, but a genuine 9166 Legacy Drawstring will NEVER have a "4" year code indicating 1994 since the style wasn't even introduced until 2000. However, there's ONE big exception and that's for bags with a "4" year code made in Costa Rica. The plant there was forced to stamp a year code that was 10 years out of date (4 instead of 04) in bags made there in 2004.

Thank you for the warning! There was another 2005 city bag I bought but it got lost in a postal service black hole. So hopefully it will resurface one day or that this bag is legit!
