What a great find! And in what looks like excellent condition, which is unusual for a light color suede bag, and it still has its special hangtag. It was part of a line of mostly Special Edition designs originally called Poppies For Peace that Coach created in connection with the Peace Games, an annual American-Canadian athletic competition which sadly ended in the same year as this one was made, September 2003. Some background on the Games:

This one was called a Soho Floral Suede Small Hobo. Here's Coach's website page from February 2004:

It's a lovely bag. Enjoy it!
Thank you so much, Hyacinth! It’s a really sweet little bag I can use in my totes. And I love the back story of the Peace Games! Thanks so much for including that bit of US and Canadian (me) history! I had no idea but love the Coach connection.

Good morning. This is the only other coach I pulled out of the many I have in storage. I got it off eBay years ago in mint condition. Can you please let me know if it’s authentic and if so what is its name. Thank you in advance. I think it’s navy.

It's authentic. It was called a saddle bag. I don't know if it is the large or small since you didn't provide measurements. We need measurements to ID styles that don't have the style number in the creed, including anything made before 1994.

Oh I’m so sorry. It is the smaller one. I have the bigger one in a dark brown color still in storage. I thought it was a mailman bag, I think that’s what it was advertised as when I bought it. Thank you whateve. I’ll make a note to put the size of the bag. I’ve read the salesarea guides and I’m still confused about the style numbers system. some bags I have that came with the registration card, don’t remember if I registered or not. And then there are the ones with the actual style number as my duffle sac #9085. I’m still going thru the older posts in the reference library trying to match what I have. You Authenticators are a real treasure here. Thank you for taking the time to look and give the names and dates of the items. I appreciate you all. Have a blessed day. I’m loving all the eye candy in the reference library.

There is a post with a lot of SaleArea guides that you might find helpful:

In particular there are guides that talk specifically about creed and serial numbers which may help you with dating your bags (or getting a timeframe at least, pre-1994) to supplement or help as you sift through the reference catalog scans

I’m not an authenticator but wanted to share these links with you as the tpf Coach authenticators will often link tPf members to the SaleArea guides as recommended reading. I have them bookmarked as I end up using them fairly often

AUTHENTICATE This COACH

Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread.

Note: The PurseForum requests that only members with an extensive knowledge of the brand and authenticating who have over 500 posts participate as authenticators in this AT thread. The moderators reserve the right to remove authentications that do not meet these requirements.

Please follow the following rules:

  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller:
    Link:
    Comments:

  • If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.
  • Authenticators are not required to answer every request and it is their right to ignore a request that is not in the proper format.
  • Please note that comments on price and condition are NOT permitted.
  • Do NOT PM an authenticator or moderator to request authentication. Any and all such requests should be posted in this thread.
  • Should one of your items be questioned in this thread, you are welcome to provide additional pictures or materials supporting its authenticity.
