Genuine. It was never called a Binocular Bag, but when it was first introduced in 1994 Coach called it a Canterbury Bag. They changed the name to Nottingham Bag early in 1995, which is when this one was made, March 1995 to be exact. Both style names had style number 9948. That type of clasp was called a turnlock.

Information about how to decode Coach's serial number codes in bags that used the new letter-and-number serials that Coach began to use starting in 1994 and continuing into 1996 is explained in both the Creeds and Serial Numbers chapters of the Salearea Coach Guides, the link to the thread is Pinned at the top of many of the pages of this sub-forum (some of the links are to old pages and no longer work):
Thank you! I appreciate the info. I will check out the serial number post you linked to.

Coach vintage Legacy zip 9966

Received this from an ebay seller. does the creed look authentic? It says No G8U-9966. The 9966 is crooked, which makes me suspicious.

I got this bag today. Here are some more photos. Does it look authentic? Do you know the style name? Thanks! (It's a very cool bag. I found a piece of paper in the bag showing the owner was 81 in 2011. !!)
