Please follow the following requests:

• Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
• Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

• For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock

1. the creed picture isn't enough. We need to see the entire number too.
2. authentic but the strap has been cut.
3. authentic basic bag, not convertible clutch.
4. fake, but they did make this style so keep looking.
5. probably okay, but I'd like to see a creed picture. Seller is wrong about the style number. It should be 9945, not 0945.

MAN! I really wish the sellers would be more responsive to sending in better pictures.
Newbie potentially stupid question, but I'll ask anyway since I have no idea: If I bought the bag that had no serial number, posted pictures here for authentication and it ended up being fake, would I be able to get a refund for the item and shipping from ebay? The seller says no refunds.

Thanks for bringing the shortened strap on #2 to my attention. I've been a lot more careful about pictures after Hyacinth brought to my attention a strap that look like it had been shortened courtesy of a pet dog's teeth. It's still super cute...

Aaaaah! I was totally going to try to buy the fake bag! If there exists a real one of that style, is the style number correct at least? I saw so many of a similar style but the bag wasn't deep enough or the strap was too long. This bag is about the right depth and strap length, and it's so exciting to see a bag without metal sewn on to hold straps since that's where my mom's bag has broken EVERY TIME. (She's bought the same bag at least 3 times before and I think it's time to just buy one that won't fall apart in a year.)

You're welcome. The seller probably doesn't know how to take the picture. It isn't impossible. There are others of the same style on ebay with a full creed picture. If you buy a fake, ebay buyer protection should get you a complete refund, but it is a hassle and there is the risk you won't get all your money back. Sometimes you are out the cost to ship it back.

I've bought several bags with shortened straps. I didn't realize until I put them in the bath, and by that time it was too late to return them.

The style number of the fake bag is correct. It was a popular style so it was counterfeited a lot. It is an ergo pocket zip. They were designed to be comfortable to carry. Another thing that is nice about the lack of hardware is that you don't have to worry about it not matching your jewelry. Here is the catalog picture.
