will take photo tomorrow when light is better. I am not sure if you can look up item on ebay after the auction is over. I am on chemotherapy and have cramps in my hands so I can't hold camera right now. thanks for any help

I bought this bag on ebay. The leather feels like vinyl. Inside the bag is a woven label "made in China". the creed number is E1271-F17447. ebay item 381326427166. I have never owned a bag with the woven label inside. I just did not feel comfortable about the bag. This is probably the only time I will be on this forum anyway. The bag was advertised as a ashley black jacquard spectator satchel. It just feels different. I know my rolex is real but this bag not so sure. I usually can spot a fake at the area flea markets but this one I bought online. I thought there was a site I could just plug in the creed numbers and be happy.

If you think that just because a creed number "matches", the bag must be genuine, you've been SERIOUSLY misinformed. Like I already said, what makes you think that fakes makers can't copy a serial number?

As for the Made In China label, Coach has been using that for at least 5 years, probably more.

And some Coach leathers DON'T have a classic leather feel - that doesn't mean that they're vinyl OR fake.

I STRONGLY suggest that you stop trying to authenticate your own bags because the information you're using is completely wrong. I don't know where you're getting it from but you need to find another source, and soon.

Btw, there's nothing wrong with the bag you bought that I can see. More opinions are welcome.

Hello I just joined and would like to know where I could look up a creed number. Item is on ebay-coach ashley black. item #381326427166. creed number F17447. I see no leather on this bag at all. It makes me nervous. thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by "looking up a creed number". Do you mean to try and see if it's genuine? Just because a bag has the "right" style number (the second half of the serial number) doesn't prove it's genuine. Probably close to half of the fakes asked about in this very long thread and its half-dozen archived predecessors had "correct" serial numbers. Why does everyone think that fakes makers can't copy a valid serial number?

Post number One in the thread explains what information we need to authenticate a Coach item, if that's what you're asking for.

I also don't understand why you think there's "no leather on this bag at all" . I'm seeing plenty of leather.

If you will refer to the first post of this thread, it will tell you the information we need. Counterfeiters can copy real numbers so even if it is a valid number, it doesn't prove it is authentic.

I believe this is the listing you bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Signa...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

The creed photo is shown in the listing.

The bag is authentic.

Good luck with your treatment.

Item: Early Coach Duffle

Hi everyone! Can y'all authenticate this duffle for me? I've never seen this bag, but it seems to be authenticate. Thanks in advance!

Is there any kind of stamping on the inside of the bag, such as on the inside pocket? And are there any stamps or engravings on the backs of the buckles or on the hangtag chain? If so, please post photos.

Can you post the measurements? Top to bottom and across the base, please.

I meant to post a photo of the hang tag. It's one sided and a slightly different shape. No pocket on the inside. The only engraving on the brass says "solid brass".

Waiting for measurements, but it's probably a Duffle Sac, style number 9085. It should measure about 13 inches high and 9 inches across the base.

I'm surprised you haven't seen it before. Coach has been making the same style for at least 40 years. This one is probably from the 1970s.

Of course. But this bag is different than 9085. No interior pocket. No piping on the outside etc. Thank you for your help Hyacinth.

Hi all,

Can you please take a look at this purse for me?

Item Name: NWOT COACH Rambler’s Legacy cream leather bag purse #9071 USA
Item Number: 331615121097
Seller: flametree0512 (76 )
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331615121097
Comments: I am not familiar with the seller and they have <100 feedback but really really want a rambler that isn't black. Plus I have just about this amount in ebay bucks which are going to expire in a few days. Thanks so much for your help!

It looks good.

Those are minor design changes that happened over the years, they don't make it a different style. Major changes in a bag's design usually resulted in a new style number but minor tweaks were just responses to improving the quality of a bag or adding a feature that buyers asked for, like an inside pocket or a different strap. I imagine trying to find your car or house keys at the bottom of a pocket-less Duffle Sac would have gotten aggravating pretty quickly, and an inside pocket would have been at the top of almost any owner's Wish List.

It sounds like yours is a very early version.
