Hello,

Just bought a couple bags online (both briefcases), I’m pretty confident they’re authentic but just want to be certain. One of them was those too good to be true prices so that would be the one I’m more weary of but if it turns out to be fake I’m not gonna be devastated of course.

When I google the style number I see a lot of “NILET” next to the name of the bag not sure what that means.

the second and more expensive is here:

To clarify:

1st bag: Coach Briefcase from 2018
Seller: Nichole on Mercari
Style: B1861-F11312
URL: https://merc.li/7NeZVZkYb?sv=0

2nd bag: Vintage Coach Briefcase from 2001
Seller: Area274 on Poshmark
Style: G1S-5306
URL: https://posh.mk/rpacmvVtLyb

I’m curious to know their “names” if you know them :)

I'm sorry but I'm seeing exactly what I was afraid of. What I saw in the picture of the partial creed shown in the listing looked off to me which I why I recommended against the bag without a picture.

Unfortunately, the bag is fake. You should open a dispute and return it.
Oh crap. This was a birthday present to myself and I was so excited.

I see @Hyacinth replied below too with additional information to bolster a return claim.

Thank you so much for your review and expertise.

If you need to give a reason for the return or refund, Search tPF's forum pages for "coach serial D2J ", we discussed that always-fake serial number several times just in the last 2 weeks. There are 2 pages of links to posts here and especially in the Daria48 Fake Coach Numbers List and why it's always fake.

Here is just one of the many posts:

And here's what the Daria48 Fakes List says in its list of always-fake serial numbers and prefixes:

"D2J- serial number prefixes whenever they're part of a creed stamp that says the bag was made in the US. That code sequence was ONLY used for bags made in a Chinese plant, never an American one. And ALL serial prefixes with J as the third digit and a "Made in the US" creed need to be carefully authenticated, since the "J" plant in the US originally made only clothing items."

"Since 1999 the J plant was ONLY used by a Chinese plant and should NEVER be found in any bags with creeds saying they were made in the USA."
Thank you so much, Hyacinth. This is so very helpful and clear.

This bag was a birthday present to myself and I was so happy to find it. Ugh, I’m so bummed to have to request a return/refund, but am very grateful to have this information to support my request.

I really appreciate your time and expertise. Thank you!

From what I can see, it looks fake. I think I'm seeing an X in the first digit. The "No." is completely covered up and that is important to see.

It's weird I can't see the creed picture in your post but I can see it in the reply box.

By the way, even if it was authentic, this style was never ever called a trail bag.

Hello all, can you please help authenticate this purse please? Thanks in advance

Thanks! My thoughts too. And I wasn't sure on the style name, hence the (?). A quick search I could either find it called trail or flap bag.
