Hoping someone can tell me if this is a fake or not. Going to keep it either way, but the serial number seems fake.

Found at a junk/thrift store in west virginia. Thanks.View attachment 5599195View attachment 5599196View attachment 5599197View attachment 5599198View attachment 5599199View attachment 5599200

Close fake, but still fake. Wrong serial prefix AND style number, and the creed says the bag is made of cowhide. There are several other bad mistakes too. ALWAYS read the creed!

Comments: Dear Authenticators, would appreciate if you able to confirm the authenticity of the bag...thanks

Please copy the seller's photos of the creed stamp and serial number and post them here.

And if it's genuine it would not have been made in the 1970s.

nvm- just remembered whateve telling me that G5C willis are always good- correct me if i’m wrong- i don’t have my cheat sheet in front of me…. so my memory is a bit slow. ty again for all ur help & sharing your knowledge. i will also search the thread before my post- major brain gas

item: willis
list #- none
seller: cindykaypusch. poshmark
link: https://posh.mk/BbhLNdfdSsb
creed: G5C. 9927
hi again…. willis bags make me nervous as i’ve seen some fakes that looked authentic. what do you think?

I'm not comfortable saying that ANY serial prefix is "always good" without seeing photos. You may be mis-remembering the original comment. NOTHING including a serial prefix can be declared "always authentic" without photos. What's to stop professional counterfeiters who read this forum - and some do! - from copying and using that number?

Post copies of the seller's listing photos here.

i’m so sorry for misunderstanding whateve, I really put my foot in my mouth. my sincere apologies. would you like me to take that out of my post? I never want to put words in someone’s mouth, let alone misinformation out there that can be misleading.

Since this was directed to Whateve, wait for her suggestion.

I can only get the creed photo from the post as below. Hope its help.

Thank you. It's genuine and was made in the late 1980s, not the 1970s. The Station Bag wasn't introduced in it's final form until late 1987.

Here's my post from Monday:

I looked into that info- it was post 75,895- I had it really messed up & read it the wrong way-we were referring to M6L 9927-wasn’t a post with whateve . I will be more careful & stick to the format with caution. it’s all a good learning process- ty for ur understanding
