It’s longer then I had expected, and the leather is thick and a little floppy. I couldn’t find any similar bags in the catalog photos.
Could it be a document holder for travel? Did you check the men's items or the business section of the catalogs? It's nice!
I thought men's as well, but can't seem to find it. Most seem to have zippers or snaps of some sort. It seems too long and floppy to be a clutch.
Genuine but I don't know the style.

@JJK250 I was thinking about your mystery bag "the long, floppy clutch" so I asked a vintage coach fan named Matthew on another forum if he had ever seen one like it, because he has a very extensive collection of Coach small leather goods and vintage Coach men's accessories.

He found the picture below online and suggested that your bag might be the same, does it look like your bag? The typed notation calls it an "Envelope Clutch" but I am unsure about the style number of 9550 that's listed -because that is the same number used for a Soho Flap Satchel. However, I know that Coach has done a few odd things with style numbers over the years a few times!

@Hyacinth, are you familiar with a vintage bag called the Envelope Clutch?

Hello @Hyacinth and thank you for your response. Below I have attached the only photo she has posted. I’ve asked seller for another clear shot but no response as of yet. I was actually hoping you’d provide those catalog pictures of the different styles, and you did! Thank you so much. I’ve also seen the other style pouch with the two pockets in front of the pouch. Do you know which one that is?
Im interested in authentication of this particular one I’m asking for.
thanks again;)

The photo shows a genuine creed and serial number from the early 1990s.

And I'm sorry, I confused your question with one from a few days ago by another poster, she asked about 2 waist pouches and I answered here:

Sallellen posted a photo of one of the waist pouches, style number 516, with the 2 front pockets just a few hours ago, post 73754, and here's the other one, style number 507 Pocket Waist Pack, all of them made within about 6 years of each other. It's very easy to get them confused. But when I'm busy I confuse easily.

507_Pocket Waist Pack -Hol1991.jpg

So - there were 2 waist pouch styles made in the early 1990s with 2 small front pockets, 507 and 516.

There were 2 OTHER styles at almost the same time with a large single zippered compartment and no front pockets, styles 506 and 515, here are those catalog pics. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge:

515 Canteen Waist Pouch from 1993

So for anyone who liked the convenience of a belt bag or fanny pack, there were at least 4 to choose from.

My apologies to you and to @pet1516 for any confusion.

I just bought this vintage Willis bag yesterday, and I was wondering if someone could authenticate it for me? It feels nice like real leather, but I don’t know how to read Coach’s codes. I am happy to post more pics if needed!

Please refer to the Read Me post at the top of each page for the information we need. If you bought it online from a private seller or from a selling site like Ebay, we need the URL of the selling page as well as the seller's name or ID.

It looks genuine, made in 2001.

Dear authenticators,

I just purchased this bag off of EBay… could I please get your assessment?

Not only have I never seen one with such a huge Coach logo on the front, but the border of the logo isn't right either. It has too many lines. The stitching and binding on the underside of the flap isn't Coach quality either. I don't believe it's genuine.

No, I'm not. The only 9550 in my files is for that much more recent Soho style from 2003 that used the same style number. This one is new to me. You might want to ask @whateve when she gets back.

1- genuine Metropolis Zip from 1998

2- genuine and made in the late 1980s or maybe around 1992 but I'm not sure what style it is, maybe a City Bag.

BTW, the bag in the Posh listing and photos, the style 506 Waist Pouch you asked about, is genuine, from the early 1990s.

I’ll do that, thanks. I noticed that the dimensions on the picture are given in centimeters and inches so perhaps it was released outside the US.
