The creed in that photo is for a genuine Willis made in 1999.

As for your other question - sometimes people are just lazy or careless. But a LOT of the blame is on Ebay's shoulders. They allow sellers to use generic descriptions from other listings with the same keywords just because the dimwits at Ebay don't understand that one "brown Coach Willis" isn't the same as every other "brown Coach Willis". They say they're making it easier for sellers to list similar items, but instead sellers blindly do as Ebay suggests and copy information FROM EBAY'S OWN APPROVED FILES that is totally wrong for the item they're selling. Any seller who takes short cuts like that is going to get into trouble sooner or later, and the people at Ebay who started this idiotic "short cut" should get thrown out on their arses for suggesting it AND keeping it going when it's clearly been shown to be a massively STUPID idea.

Always read listings carefully, and don't ever assume that a seller can figure out why copying details of someone else's listing, even if it's a "Ebay-approved" process or short cut, is a good idea. I don't know if that's what happened in this case, but it wouldn't be the first time.

Good luck.

You are seriously a WEALTH of information, wow!! Thanks again.

Genuine and made in 1994. Sounds like a good day at Value Village!
Thank you! And, Yes! I also found some more modern ones. :) Here's a little red one, measures 7.5 by 4.5 by 2. The chain strap is about 12 inches long.

Hello authenticators

I would be so grateful as ever with your help with authenticating this Station bag:

FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
Item: Vintage Coach glove tanned leather Messenger bag
Listing number: 295028409372
Seller and site where listed ebay - janetromeo
Link: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295028409372

Many thanks

It's a genuine Station Bag made in 1995

The listing in the previous post you mentioned was determined to be fake not because of the number but because the font used for the serial number was NOT correct for the year and plant shown in the number. The poster mentioned that in their original question:
" This serial number font does not look the same as any other 9816 I met before."

The listing for the fake has been removed so we can't compare it with a genuine serial font, but there's nothing wrong that I can see with the bag you're asking about. it's genuine.
Hyacinth, I misread her post (or read it quickly and panicked so I didn’t pay enough attention!) I’m relieved. Thank you!

Authenticators, I’d appreciate info on the following:
Source: Goodwill
Creed serial number: 396-6205
Link: https://shopgoodwill.com/item/145692481
Listing ID number: 145692481
Comments: I know this is a pre-1994 bag but I don’t know what style it is. it looks like an Ergo 9034, but they don’t have detachable handles. Is it a real Coach? If so, what’s the style name and approximately when was it made?
Thanks for your valuable help!

None of the Ergos was made before 1994.

I'm surprised you don't recognise it, it's a style number 9235 Crescent Bag and Coach made the same style from at least 1976 and probably earlier up to about 1985. It never had "detachable handles". As the listing states, IT'S MISSING THE LONG SHOULDER STRAP, so unless you have one that fits, you may wish to look elsewhere. Finding one in the right width can be difficult, and matching the (unknown) color could be a real problem.

THIS is the bag in the listing, from a 1983 catalog:

Thanks for the info and the old ad, Hyacinth. I am not very familiar with bags from the 60s, 70s and 80s. I love the style but wouldn’t buy this one due to the color (and missing strap). Without knowing the name and not having any style number to search, it’s not easy to find info on the older vintage bags. According to the old ad, the color in the Goodwill auction must be “Tabac.” Now that you gave me the name of the style, I looked for it online. There aren’t too many around, and those I found were very pricey (I saw one for over $600 and it wasn’t even in great condition) or were colors I’m not interested in. I saw a gorgeous burgundy one but it was really expensive. Now that I know the style name I can search periodically and maybe I’ll get lucky. While searching I found a Wall St. Journal article from 2012 about Coach’s launch of its Legacy collection, bringing back old styles but tinkering with them - lighter leather, etc. The article has a photo of two old Crescent bags from 1964. Interesting article. Makes me wonder why they didn’t bring back the Crescent. In case anyone wants to read it, here’s the link:

Hello,
I’d greatly appreciate your help in authenticating this bag I purchased please.

Item: Coach Beatnik Dinky (listed as Coach leather handbag)
Listing/ Reference #: 5729510
Seller: Cecilia
Site: Vestiaire Collective
Link: https://www.vestiairecollective.com...ach/black-leather-coach-handbag-5729510.shtml

I noticed there is a letter missing on the word “number” at the end of the creed. The word is spelled “numbe”. Also, some of the rings around the stones are cracked. Some of the rivets seem to be plastic. I will add pictures that are not posted on the listing. Thank you very much!
