Comments: This has the "Bean Bag" creed and it doesn't look like a genuine Willis to me, do you agree that it's a fake?

TOTALLY FAKE. All kinds of construction mistakes from the top handle to the missing padding in the leather tab holding the turnlock to the HORRIBLE AND ALWAYS-FAKE "creed stamp in black with stamped gold letters that include spelling and punctuation mistakes, which is like a tornado siren warning about a Korean fake. There's NOTHING right about that POS. And I've only looked at two photos so far!

Dear authenticators: I think I have been duped. A while ago before I knew as much as I know now, I bought a Bleeker bag with the serial number J9H-9305. I later read that none of you have ever seen a bag with J9H or J8H on the creed that wasn’t a fake. I just looked at the Bleeker bag I bought again and saw the J9H - and remembered the posts about it. I’m kicking myself - I spent the time to rehab it and was trying to sell it. I’ve deactivated the sales listing for it and if it is indeed a fake, I’ll get rid of the bag. The eBay listing is still working:

Platform: eBay
Seller: pursefetish12

If her pictures aren’t good enough, I have the ones I took of the bag after my rehab.

Thanks,
Lucy

Thank you for being an honest vendor, I am sorry to hear that you may have been deceived. We've all made mistakes when buying bags, but it's a real shame that you went to all the trouble or rehabbing and listing it before discovering that it is probably a fake!

The listing is already gone, but our statement about the serial prefix still stands. The H plant in the US was closed some time in early 1998 as near as we can tell. All K3H- prefixes indicating a bag made in the US "H" plant in 2003 are also always fake. And K4H- serial prefixes can be either fake OR genuine, depending on details in the creed stamp.

If you happen to still have photos of the front of the showing the handle strap, and a clear readable photo of the magnetic snap showing the stamped words and numbers, I'll be glad to take a look.

Hi, Hyacinth,
Here are photos of the front, straps and magnetic snap.

Hyacinth- Re my previous post, I am now also concerned about a 9816 Slim Duffle I bought from Goodwill. I read a post from about a month ago about a bag with the exact same serial number: H9C-9816. The person who posted was worried about that serial number (the H9C). The conclusion was that it was a fake. If mine is a fake I’ll be very surprised- but I am attaching photos of the bag and would appreciate it if you would look at it, also. The serial number on my bag is very faded and hard to read. Maybe I am reading the prefix H9C incorrectly?

Just to let you know, dusting the creed and serial number with some light-colored eyeshadow may make it easier to read. I hope that everything is okay, it's a beautiful bag!

Treasures! I hope they are real. An unknown girl shopping in the thrift store today (Value Village) had both of these in her hands. SHE found them, took them off the rack...and then offered them to me!! I was shocked and happy. I suppose she noticed me intently studying a more recent Coach purse and pulling the pockets inside out... Anyway, please and thank you for looking at these, which I believe is a vintage chunky case bag and a vintage pocket purse.

First one: measures around 7.5 by 4.5 by 1 inch. Has the striped lining. No creed.

The listing in the previous post you mentioned was determined to be fake not because of the number but because the font used for the serial number was NOT correct for the year and plant shown in the number. The poster mentioned that in their original question:
" This serial number font does not look the same as any other 9816 I met before."

The listing for the fake has been removed so we can't compare it with a genuine serial font, but there's nothing wrong that I can see with the bag you're asking about. it's genuine.

It looks OK but there really aren't many details on those smaller items that can help us with authentications unless there's an obvious problem, and I don't see any obvious problems with the Chunky Case.

Item #2 measures approx 9.5 by 6 by 2 inches.

Thank you. I measured it against the other chunky case I have, and it looks the same, same size, same hardware, same stitching, except for the direction of the bottom fabric.
