Item:COACH VINTAGE BROWN TRAIL BAG TRAIN CASE #A5C-9955
Listing number: 354050155841
Seller and site where listed: shlam_5205 (0) ebay
Link:https://www.ebay.com/itm/354050155841?hash=item526f08a541:g:nJwAAOSw2HNid~O7

Thank you!
The pictures show an authentic bag but I'm a little concerned.

It's a brand new seller and the same bag was already "sold" twice on May 8. I'd ask the seller what happened and why the bag is still available.

Hi Y’all! Still on the hunt for a vintage Coach briefcase, wondering if you would be able to authenticate this guy:

Item: 5328 Attache Coach Briefcase
Listing number: (not sure where to find on Poshmark , if someone knows please let me know :>)
Seller and site where listed: Poshmark, seller Fashunblylowd
Link:https://posh.mk/GCCvClyNbqb
Comments:Unfamiliar with this type of bag, unsure if everything checks out (serial number, hardware, etc. seems to check out as a real bag, as does story tag; again, though, not an expert)

Thank you all for your help last time; Thank you in advance!

*edit: fixed tense in last sentence.

Thank you! I will ask her. I have been a member for years and have learned so much from the group, but this is my first post.

Genuine Trader Brief made in 1999

Why do you think it might NOT be?

There's no way to tell from those photos. But the photos of the magnetic snap and the creed and serial number are from a genuine Coach.
Thank you Hyacinth ! It seems to me that the top of 1 is somewhat deeper rounded than that of 2. I.e. the top silhouette of 2 seems flatter...But then I might just have been staring at it too long  It is also confusing because the COA shows a flap, whereas neither 1 nor 2 shows a flap.

I don't see any flap in the picture on the COA, all I'm seeing is a badly photographed or processed image. Which, coming from Entrupy, doesn't surprise me. Enlarge or Zoom that photo and look again.

As for the top of the bag, one photo shows the bag hanging from the strap and the next shows it with the strap just hanging down and the bag standing on it's base. That's going to change the shape of the top of the bag in the photos.

Compare apples to apples.

Ahhhh yes I see the whole front is a flap lol...finally discerned in a blown up picture. I did think that hanging vs standing might change the silhouette, but I did not think it was that much. Since I'm still looking for a red bag, I actually would have bid on that bag if they had posted the dimensions. As it is, I did not see that bag until after business hours and hence could not ask. And of course, the looks of the bag had really thrown me off. Thank you for taking the time to set me straight. This coach bag business is very confusing when you are a newbie.

I’m reposting this just so it doesn’t get buried in all the posts. I recently bought this bag and not sure if it’s authentic, I’m not sure what to look for, I’ll appreciate if one of the Authenticators can help me take a look!

I have another bag that I would like another pair of eyes to take a look!

We've all been newbies and we've all been confused, no need to apologise.

If you're looking for a mid-size bag, it's probably a good thing you passed on that one.
Not only are the Hippie styles from that period almost pancake-flat but that particular style 9142 was called a Mini Hippie for a very good reason, the 1999 Holiday catalog lists the measurements as 6 1/8 x 8 1/4 inches so it's almost pancake-SIZE too. The bag is so flat that they didn't even bother giving a measurement for its depth front to back. So it's MAYBE big enough for a cell phone and a very thin wallet or Mini Skinny and a small set of keys, and even with those few items it's going to look a bit lumpy.

I briefly owned the largest version of the Hippie Flap which was listed as 12 x 11 inches and still found it completely useless for all the items I carry. And it looked terrible when it was loaded with anything thicker than a pair of sunglasses.
