Hi there, I recently acquired what I think are two vintage Coach bags, but I am not certain. I would sincerely appreciate someone who has a trained eye to help me authenticate them as I plan to restore them. Both of these have plastic internal zippers which is what makes me wary about their authenticity.

The first one is a Rambler bag I purchased from Depop:

The second one is a Willis bag I bought at a vintage shop in Maine.

Thank you in advance to anyone who is able to help me!

Both are authentic and are more recent bags, the Rambler's Legacy from 2003 and the Willis from 2005. Coach started using nylon zippers for interior pockets in the 90s.

In case you weren't aware, we have a rehab club for vintage Coach here: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club.833400/

Both are genuine, but neither is technically "vintage" yet since vintage handbags have to be at least 20 years old.

The Rambler's LEGACY (note the correct name) was made in 2003, and the Willis in 2005.

And wherever you're finding "information" on what details do or don't make a genuine Coach, you're getting some bad information. Whether or not it has "plastic" (actually those are usually NYLON) zippers, doesn't prove anything. Coach was using nylon zippers in some of their bags as early as the late 1980s or early 1990s. Whatever other "rules" you may have found from the same source, ignore them unless we tell you they're dependable, and I doubt if many of them will be based solely on the irresponsibly bad advice about the inside zippers (which have been used in a good percentage of Coaches for at least 30 years now).

The six Salearea Coach Guides posted here at tPF along with some background information about their history have more accurate information in a single paragraph than most so-called "Coach Authenticity Guides" have in their entire contents, I strongly recommend that you take the time to read them and Bookmark them:

How do I ask for authentication?
I'm trying to authenticate a brighton, not sure how
Start by reading the IMPORTANT - READ ME Post at the top of each page in this thread. When a post from a Mod or Administrator at the top of a page says READ ME, or IMPORTANT, you need to read it before posting.
Are you looking for authentication of a Brighton BRAND bag or a Coach Brighton (style)?

If it's the Coach Brighton bag, follow instructions and post info and pictures on this thread.

If it's a Brighton brand bag, post on this thread:

She already found it. I was going to post the same information, then I saw she already posted there.

Thanks you! Appreciate your corrections. I'm very new to this and clearly have a lot to learn!

Hi, I hope it’s okay to repost this as I didn’t get a response the first time (or when I bumped it). No rush though! I just wanted to make sure my post didn’t get lost in the sea of other posts and that’s why I hadn’t received a response. Thank you, authenticators, for this wonderful service you all provide!

Hello Authenticators, I’m concerned about a bag, could you help me take a look?
