Sharing what might be my crown jewel in my collection for authentication, if it’s legit and if I ever get it fixed up. Thank you in advance.

Bonnie Cashin Double Kisslock Tote

It measures just over 8” by 6” by 4” without measuring the hardware.

ETA I got this from goodwill a few years ago.

BUMPING THIS FOR @whateve

Item: Stewardess bag
Listing number: 142534535
Seller and site where listed
Link: shopgoodwill.com/item/142534535
Comments: I suspect this one will be a layup, but please take a look at this Stewardess on shopgoodwill. I had to push customer service to get a photo of the creed. Thank you all for your time!

It's genuine and PROBABLY a Stewardess but without being able to see the underflap pocket I'm not going to say for sure. The strap at least in the photos looks like the 30 inches mentioned in the listing or even a bit less, Coach's actual listed measurement of the standard (shorter) strap length was 36 inches. You definitely will not be able to wear it cross-body. If you get it, check the strap length.

It's authentic. Probably made in the late 60s. Earlier versions didn't have the black lines between the stripes and later versions had a different Coach label. Even later versions had a leather strap and black lining. The official name was double entry swinger.

Thank you! Were the oblong serial number frame and the © in the creed used very long/widely? I’ve seen similar serial number frame in bags with glue in labels, but not as a stamp. And the “COACH” in balloon letters about to pop?

I believe the copyright mark was from the early days of that early creed but since there's really no way to confirm exact dates or even exact years in older creeds that's just a guess, and even experts in that time period can agree to disagree because of it.

Thank you so much! I had no idea what the official name was.

I appreciate your time and expertise!

It is my opinion the glued-in labels were used at least up through 1983, as I had a bag I could date as being from 1983 that had one. I disagree with some that they were the first stamps with numbers. It is possible they were using those stamps at the same time as the other regular creed with a stamped number. They may have devised the glued in number as a way to relieve a bottleneck at the stamping machine.

Many years ago, someone on the forum did a search and learned that at the time Coach was using those registered trademark symbols, they hadn't actually registered their trademark. We believe they stopped using those creeds when Sara Lee took over and their lawyers had a look.

The only thing I can find is a Dover Bag style 9900 from the 1992 Carriage Classics line which was only available for a few months starting in Spring 1992 but I don't have any way of scanning my paper catalog page. It's similar to a Barclay Tote but smaller and with a soft top opening instead of the dowel-type top the Barclay Tote has.. All I have are a few seller photos and a description - magnetic tab closure, double handles, 12 x 11 1/2 x 5 inches.

There's no such thing as a Marion Tote at least not in pre-China styles. There's a Marion Bag #4236 that's similar to a Binocular Bag but it's from the Sheridan line.

Are either of those what you're looking for?
The first one was thank you! I couldn’t find anything about it online and I was going crazy! You are awesome!
