Hello authenticators, may I ask you to authenticated two bags I have purchased?

Item 1: Slim Satchel
Measurements: 13x9,5x8 inches
How obtained: Thrifted
Comments: I felt sorry for the bag, it was about $10. The inner pocket with the creed was cut out and sewn to the front of the bag. If genuine I will try to fix it. I will need some serious rehab advise too

Item 2: Penny Pocket
Measurements: 9,5x6x2 inches
How obtained: Purchased on Vinted Poland
Comments: This one is making me nervous. The leather is so soft and light it’s either very high quality or very fake.

First bag- Why in the world would anyone sew the inside pocket to the front? It doesn't make any sense. There's no way you could ever sell that bag, at least not here in the US, because there's no way to prove it really was made by Coach since the original pocket has been removed, and there's no way to prove the pocket sewn onto the front is from the same bag. It's PROBABLY authentic but I'm not completely comfortable saying so. The style is correct for the time period indicated by the creed stamp and serial number. It was made in the late 1980s or very early 1990s.

Serious rehab advice can be found at the Rehab And Rescue Club in the main Coach forum, Coach Clubhouse sub-forum:
.

second bag - the name Penny Pocket was never actually used by Coach. The bag is genuine and is a second or third generation of the style 9755 and was still called a Pocket Purse. During the 1980s and 1990s, Coach re-issued many of their classic styles from 10 or 20 years before. This one was made in 1998.

As for the softness of the leather, Coaches made in Costa Rica are very popular with vintage collectors here because of the high quality of the leather. And of course if the previous owner was careful to take care of it and condition it with the right products, that would keep the leather soft.

I am reposting due to the problem with the system...

Hello Authenticators! Please help me with this bag, is it an authentic Coach:

Comments: Thank you! This is my first time trying this so please let me know if more information is needed.

It looks good to me, made in 1995. More opinions are welcome, since the serial number is very hard to read.

Would y'all advise that I keep it, and rehab it, or send it back?. Am I correct in that it was manufactured in 1994? If so, then it would have been made very shortly after the style entered production (1993). I will definitely be filing a complaint regardless of whether I keep it. Any guidance would be most helpful, as I don't know what I'm doing. I have just fallen in love with older Coach and only intend on using them for myself and hopefully my girls in the future. I am not a collector, nor will I be reselling, but I do want them to be authentic and in good enough shape to be used on a regular basis. I don't mind putting in the work to learn the proper way to rehab them if I need to. Please advise.
Personally I would keep it. I think it would be hard to find another for the price you paid. I think it would rehab nicely. Unfortunately with Poshmark, I don't there is any way to get a partial refund. If you claim not as described, more than likely you'll be told to return the bag and get a full refund.

Hello, I have not received a reply and I am new to posting on the forum, so I am trying anything at this point.
Please authenticate the coach listed below:

It looks like it is missing a dash in the middle of the 2 parts of the serial numbers. Does that make a difference with authenticity? Another coach collector told me that no dash in this type of serial # is a problem.

Both Whateve and Hyacinth already authenticated the bag so I'll comment on your question.

I don't know who the "coach collector" is who told you that "no dash in this type of serial # is a problem" but I strongly advise you to ignore this collector as well as many of the "authenticity guides" that float around the internet.

As with this bag, sometimes the hyphen is missing and on other bags, sometimes on bags with all numeric serial numbers, there are 8 digits instead of xxx-xxxx or xxxx-xxx when whoever did the hand stamping didn't roll the wheel to separate the halves with a dash.

Keep in mind that there are fakes with similar mistakes so every bag needs to be evaluated on its own details. And those details depend on the style and when and where made.

Thank you so much! I am still learning how the technology on the forum works. Please forgive my mis-speaking that I did not have a reply. As soon as I typed it, I thought I should check the thread one more time and I did seeing that both Hyacinth and Whateve had responded, but I did not delete the previous comment and the somehow sent the erroneous reply.

Thank you for clearing up the dash question though, I did have that untruth in my collector's look for. Much appreciation for what you as authenticator do!

Thank you Hyacinth, that is very informative.
I live in Eastern Europe and vintage coach bags were never a thing here. To most people these are just some old bags. On the upside we don’t have coach collectors, and I can buy the bags for cheap. I suspect there is a stain on the bag and the pocket is meant to hide it. We shall see, Rehab and Rescue club it is.
