Please help, mercari said that i need a authenticator proving its fake. I already sent them this conversation but they still need a third party to do that. I will not gonna spend money again just to prove this bag fake. What will i do now? Is there anyway that i can get any cerificate on this forum saying its fake? Please help

Both are authentic. But the one with the keys is missing one of the charms. When you list it, be sure to disclose that it's missing one of the charms.

It's style 62744 and should look like this:

LOL! I certainly didn't think the "embellishment" was an improvement. That's why I put it in quotes!

The reason I asked the question was because you referred to the bag as "fake" and I didn't believe the bag (itself) to be fake.

I can't imagine why someone would do that unless the original fabric exterior was badly damaged.

@pet1516 - Can you peel back the fabric to see if the original bag was damaged?

Dear authenticators

I have another odd ball.The factory code is alphabet instead of a number. I recalled reading a post about this but just want to make sure.

Just curious, almost all of the vintage coaches I’ve seen are numbers for factory so why would some have alphabet? Only specific factory or style?

This bag has an example of a legitimate mistake made by Coach. Sometimes characters in the prefix got scrambled and this is one of those instances.

The bag was made in April 1997 so the prefix should have been D7H.

I agree that it isn't the type of item you want to get involved in if you're going to sell it. If you like it and will use, that's one thing but selling a bag with this type of alteration is looking for trouble.

The bag is authentic, probably some type of Hamptons tote made in 2003.
