BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.

• Full clear and legible creed text and serial number

• Measurements
• For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
• For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
• If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

Keep in mind that a seller who mixes fakes and authentic items is even more dangerous than a seller who only sells fakes because they build a sense of trust among buyers who don't recognize that the seller doesn't so her homework.

Another authenticator might be willing to comment on the listing you're asking about.

The reason why the forum software stars out the company name is because the company probably demanded it of admin because there were unflattering posts about them.

It's genuine but I can't find a confirmable name for it. One listing calls it a Small Crossbody Handbag but that doesn't fit the kind of name Coach would have used in 2003 when it was made. It might have been made for the outlets, or just didn't make enough of an impact in the market to have left a paper trail almost 20 years after it was sold.

As for that authentication service, AFAIK apparently someone here posted a negative comment about them years ago and they demanded that their company's name never be mentioned at tPF again. So it hasn't been.

Thank you for sharing your expertise. I think it's a cool bag, and I think part of why there was no competition on the sale is that it looks so different. To me, rare is good.

Hi all,
Has anyone dealt with the authentication issue with Mercari?
I was recently told that one of my bags isn't authentic, therefore, they will not allow me to list it. The bag was authenticated here.
Mercari requires the item to be authenticated before listing depending on what category and what price you plan to list it for. For Coach, they require the authentication if you price it over $300. I wonder whether anyone came across this issue and how you have resolved it? I, of course have an option to bypass it by selecting 'no brand' but I am not sure whether I will then open up the door for the remorseful buyer to say that the item is fake?
