This might seem obvious but just wanted this looked at to be certain…
I got this purse at auction with two other purses. I have never seen a serial number stamped like that ever! But I thought it could be a fake or maybe far older bag??
I tried my best with measuring
Height: 8.5

I forgot to mention I have an identical one but larger see image below and inside of the bag it had the following items and it also had a very strange stamp creed number.

Bpth are genuine. The serial number stamped on a strip of leather which was then glued into the bag was an early feature that probably dates back to the later 1970s to early 1980s, it's hard to pin the dates down exactly.

Since you said both bags are identical except for size they're probably versions of the Slim Satchel from the same time period. And all those little booklets and accessories are absolutely correct, Lucky You to have received the full packet! You can probably find at least one of the various Slim Satchels in the mini catalog fold-out, and determine roughly when that bag was made by looking for the copyright dates on the printed items and using the most recent date as a good indication of when the bag was made within a year or two.

Here's a catalog page from Fall 1983 showing the two versions available that year, including measurements. You probably own one or both of them.

Apologies, I am waiting for the photos from the seller, but since there was not much time left I posted this.

In the comments section I copied and pasted what the seller wrote in the listing, their comments. They wrote they bought the bag for £125. I haven't purchased the bag, that is why it is still active.

What EXACTLY are you comparing the serial number TO? Unless you have another bag made in the same plant, month and year, you have no basis for comparison. I believe it's a genuine Legacy Zip made in 1999. It also matches several photos in my files of bags that WERE made in the same plant, year, and within a month or in the same month as this one.

I believe it's a genuine Legacy Zip made in 1999. It also matches several photos in my files of bags that WERE made in the same plant, year, and within a month or in the same month as this one.

You should be running a Coach museum somewhere with all of your knowledge!! When I went through the little bundle of papers it showed the purchase receipt of 6/13/1985 so you were correct with one of them and the other I didn’t get the info on unfortunately. Thank you so much!!!
