Hi all - I just received this item and pretty sure it's fake. I saw the discussion about how wallets can be difficult to verify, but am hoping there's enough to confirm yay or nay. I added additional pictures in case needed. The seller packaged the item very well, so seems unlikely they intentionally sold a fake, but wanted to be sure (if possible) before I request a return.

Item: Wallet / card holder
Seller and site where listed: monimarquet on Poshmark

Comments: The leather doesn't feel right, there's no made in tag, and the lining is a pattern I haven't seen before (and a rough feeling fabric.)

I've never seen that lining either, but I've never owned that style wallet. I think I know what it's trying to copy but there's no way to know what kind of lining or pattern individual wallet styles had. All the Coach wallets I've ever owned had plain, Sig C or Coach logo linings.

Unless someone can verify that at least one line of wallets from 20 years ago had that generic pattern lining, I wouldn't recommend buying it. Coach also isn't known to use "rough feeling fabric" for their linings.

ETA - comparing it to what I think it's copying, the "COACH" stamp on the front isn't right either, the position and size are way off.

This is what I think is being copied - MORE OPINIONS ARE WELCOME:

Wow so it’s real? I was really sure that it was fake. Interesting that the creed is located in a different place. Is the placement of the creed not that important in vintage Coach ?

Very early Station Bags had a different creed placement because the early ones apparently didn't have any inside pocket. Once the pocket was added it took the plant and employees a while to adjust to the change. We've seen a few very early versions stamped that way.

Also the are no letters :/. Prob fake right ?

You haven't read the Salearea Guides like I think I suggested, have you?

Coach bags used ALL-NUMBER SERIAL NUMBERS until 1994. PLEASE read those guides, at least the ones on creeds and serial numbers, and remember where to find them.

Thank you, Hyacinth - I appreciate the extra research to find the style it's trying to copy. It's pretty close and the measurements are about right, but the stamp is pretty far off as you pointed out.

Hi Authenticators,
This bag arrived today and I hope it's real because it looks new. (I don't have to clean a bag tonight. Yippee!) I attached an extra picture of the creed. Thank you! I appreciate your help as always.

Looks genuine, made in 2007

It's genuine, probably made in the 1990s.Early wallets are hard to pin a date on.
I just wanted to share with you all what we already know, Poshmark authenticators examined the wallet and it is indeed authentic. Huge learning experience for me regarding other's actions out there. We most always stay vigilant. It presses the point why it is extremely important to authenticate all items before posting for sale. Had I not authenticated this wallet at the Purse Forum, it would have been my word against the buyers, and most likely would have gone in her favor. Much thanks and appreciation to the amazing and knowledgeable authenticators here at the Purse Forum. I would not be where I am today without you all.

The stamp on the front is in the wrong place. It's hard to believe they would make that mistake. I'm leaning towards fake too.

I owned a bedford wallet, different style though. This is what the lining looked like. The second picture shows the size and placement of the stamp on the front.

Thank you so much guys for all of your help!
I will have to read over the guides. So much to remember when it comes to coach. Are there such a thing is a super fake vintage Coach ? Sorry if this is a silly question. Still very new to the world of vintage Coach but let me just say I am in love :)

Probably. There could be super fake anything. If they had a real one, they could copy it exactly. Then how would we know if wasn't authentic?

Hi would you please authenticate this little makeup bag I believe I purchased at the consignment shop last year. I did have it authenticated, Its just way back in my old posts here and I would like to be double covered. Thank you 10.5" x 5.5" x 3.5"
