Genuine Soho Buckle Bag from 1997. The style number is the second half of the serial number.

Oooo, that's an unusual one. I've only seen it in the Fall 1997 catalog, 4169 Soho Erickson Bucket. This one was made in 1997.

Genuine, but it's almost impossible to date an item like that. The earliest catalog I have, 1981, shows a similar coin purse.




Coach was very likely making that style long before they started making handbags, back when they were just making SLGs (small leather goods). They probably sold them at the Factory Stores for as long as those stores have been in business (30 years), especially around the holidays. To give you an idea of how far back that kisslock coin purse design goes, my grandma had one like that, probably NOT a Coach, that she always carried her keys and a few coins and bills in, and she died in the late 1960s. The style is older than I am.

Thank you for sharing @Hyacinth. Very interesting - and I love being able to see catalog photos, especially the very old ones! If only I had been Coach savvy decades and decades and decades ago to have been an original owner of many instead of a second hand (or more) owner of fewer.
