Please follow the following requests:

• For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock

ALL J8H- prefix serial numbers are fake. The plant code isn't valid. The seller probably already knows that which is probably why she doesn't have a photo of the creed in the listing and had to be asked for one.

There's a list of frequently-used fake serial numbers Called the Daria48 Fake Coach Numbers List right after the six Salearea Guides Pinned here in the Coach Shopping forum. I strongly advise everyone who hasn't read both the Salearea Guides and the Daria48 Fakes List already to do so, and remember where you found them so you can find them when you need them:

The Daria48 Fakes list includes that prefix, and the Salearea Guides explain WHY a Coach can't be authenticated just by the style numbers and ESPECIALLY NOT over the phone. And anyone who tries to do so including Coach employees are not only violating Coach company policy, but also lying through their teeth if they say they can authenticate anything that way. And the seller is also lying like a rug when she says anyone on a website or phone number can do it without even seeing the bag.

I've been authenticating here and at a very large selling site for 15 years and I had to see an actual photo of the serial number to be sure, although as I said, ANY bag with a serial number starting with J8H- is ALWAYS going to be fake. NO EXCEPTIONS.

I strongly advise not buying from that Facebook seller.

I almost felt bad for a minute asking her about the authenticity because she seemed to get offended saying she "knows quality coach purses like the back of her hand" and she found a bunch online that were exactly the same. I couldn't even find one that had anywhere close to the same SN. I should have told her to kick rocks when she lied to me about calling the number but now it feels so good to know I have you guys and this information to back up my doubts. Part of me really wants to be petty and send this to her but I don't think she's looking to be educated. I think you're right and she already new. Thanks again!!

It's a genuine Equestrian SMALL Flap style 9801 from 1997. The Large Flap is style 9808.

That one is genuine, it's called a Legacy Small Zip.

Please understand that we don't encourage buying from people who have sold fakes, it just encourages some of them to keep doing it if they know they can get away with it. The ones who mix real and fake are even more dangerous than the ones who sell nothing BUT fakes.

It's authentic. It was made in 1998, and is probably British tan.

Hi. I have 4 Coach Winnie 9023 bags that I would like to get your opinion on, if they are authentic or not. I bought 2 on Poshmark & 2 on eBay. Did Coach have a standard way of attaching the top handle? I notice these are not all made the same way. Some have the end piece of leather on the top handle on the left. Others have it on the right. Some seem shorter than others. Is this an issue? Thank you for your help.

Authentic pocket purse. I would advise to get all second hand purses authenticated even if the seller claims they have authenticated them.

Actually, you (and the seller) misread the serial number because although the seller stated it as "048-9790," it's actually J4B-9790 and it's a 1994 city bag.

Small variations in how something is sewn usually don't prove anything about authenticity. (It may just be a case of whether the leatherworker was right or left handed.) We use permanent and photo-based details of the creeds and serial numbers as the primary proofs of authenticity.

All 4 of the bags you posted are genuine.
