Recently found this gem. Just arrived but color is faded and very dry. Can I get help on authenticating it? Some of the leather near the seam shows some white? Like in the third photo

Item: Coach crossbody
Seller and site: bidsanddibs on poshmark
Link: https://posh.mk/4SMDgpBZwdb
It's authentic. The white near the seam is normal. They often shaved it to make it easier to stitch. What a great deal!

Hello, and thanks for the resource! I bought this purse at a charity yard sale out of a plastic bin of purses. Paid either 50 cents or a buck for it. Assumed it was probably a fake at that price but have always been curious. I could not figure out how to search just this thread but a search of the whole forum yielded no matches for the style number. Measurements are 11" wide, 8" high, 3" deep.

Thank you in advance for your expertise.

You won't find any matches for the style number because genuine Coach serial numbers that are all numbers and no letters were used before 1994 and don't include the item's style number. That information is covered in the 6 Salearea Coach Guides that are posted here at tPF and were formerly posted at Ebay:

It's hard to be sure about the style since there aren't any photos that clearly show the sides of the bag and the strap attachments but it looks like a Spectator Bag, style 9795 from around 1987.

Thank you! I shall read the guides.

Here are more photos in case that clarifies things.
