It appears to be a genuine Willis made in 2001.

When photographing vintage or near-vintage bags with turnlocks, please be sure to include a clear close photo of the back of the turnlock showing the prongs and whether or not there are indentations for the prongs to fit into.

Was there any outlet "bulls-eye" stamped on the inside pocket near the creed stamp?

Good evening! I would appreciate it if someone could please take at the (impulse) purchase I just made... Thank you in advance!

Item: Crosby
Seller: lace2373
Link: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/COACH-Vinta...hide-Leather-Handbag-Shoulderbag/313404338553
Comments: Let’s just say that my desire for a Crosby and willingness to work on a bit of a project (by product of being in lockdown!) won out over my fear of dealing with those deep scratches/marks... if it is authentic, I foresee a trip to the Rehab thread after it gets here!

Clearly an authentic Ocelot tote. This is my item (hoping this is appropriate to post here), buyer is (falsely) claiming it is counterfeit. Simply posting here so we can offer the buyer a second opinion that their SNAD dispute is fraudulent. Thank you for your time and assistance.

You're ALWAYS welcome here. :flowers: It's good to "see" you again!

BTW, I updated the six Salearea Guides that are posted here a while back so if you want to copy the updated version for your files or your Facebook page, just start here:

The first 13 posts are just some background info. The actual Guides run from Post 14 up to and including Post 25.

Genuine Crosby, style 9905, probably made in or around 1992.

Good evening authenticators, I bought this coach organe ergo crossbody bag(No sure the correct name) in a local thrift store. The serial number doesn't have a dash which makes me a little suspicious. Could you help me check if it's fine?

Item: Coach ergo bag 9034
Where purchased or how obtained: local thrift store

It is such a tremendous honor to have your guides written in our name. You are a Coach collector's international treasure.

Thank you. And thank you again for prodding me to research and write them. I've been told that a lot of buyers, sellers and collectors have found them useful, and I want them all to know that they have you to thank for convincing me to finally put all my notes together and share them where they would do some good for other Coachies. Many many thanks!

Stay safe, and happy selling

Hello would you please authenticate this pouch? It says it was made in the Dominican. It is a little damp from washing it, the color is lighter dry. Do you know what style this is? It belongs to a lady from work I bought it from her. Measures: 8x 5x 2.5 approx. Thank you

Whether or not the number has a dash isn't important and doesn't prove or disprove authenticity. Many vintage bags didn't have dashes, and many others had all sorts of variations because the numbers were set and stamped manually and employees simply made mistakes. What's important is that the details in the numbers and the creed match genuine bags of the same style and made in the same plant, month and year. Anyone who thinks there aren't any variations in Coach stampings hasn't looked at many vintage Coaches. There are other details we look at too, but the creed and serial number are the key items and the ones that the counterfeiters get wrong the most.

The critical thing is for someone with a functioning human brain to analyze any "mistakes" and figure out if they're just a simple mistake or something to be concerned about. There's nothing to be concerned about with yours. It's a genuine Ergo Flap Hobo made in 1997.

ETA - Since the Salearea Coach Guides were mentioned earlier (PLEASE read all 6 of them if you haven't done that already), I'm just going to quote what I said in post 16 of that thread where I explain many of the serious and just plain dangerous "rules", mistakes and myths found in almost every other online guide, especially the ones called "authenticity guides" by their posters This is right from Guide number 2:

"2- Coach Authenticity Guides - Facts and Myths - SALEAREA COACH GUIDES:
"... THE "COACHES ARE ALWAYS PERFECT" RULE
Not in my lifetime or in yours. Perfection costs money, how much are you willing to spend? This AIN'T Louis Vuitton, folks.

Coach plant employees make plenty of mistakes, especially in new plants, some of the stitching at early Chinese plants was more like waves than lines. Older bags had plenty of mistakes too, especially in how the creeds and serial numbers were stamped. Sometimes even the wrong style or serial number was stamped, but any bag with that kind of mistake needs to be authenticated here at tPF before buying or selling. That's a good reason for sellers to show a full set of photos of their items, inside and out including the creed. NO ONE SHOULD EVER BUY ANY COACH ITEM, NEW OR USED, WITHOUT SEEING A FULL SET OF PHOTOS INCLUDING A READABLE CREED AND SERIAL NUMBER IF PRESENT. .."

Just one of the reasons why the Salearea Guides are so important. The more you read and understand them - and I usually go back myself and re-read them every month or two just to freshen my memory - the the less chance you have of making an expensive mistake.

It looks good, probably the Cosmetic Case Large, style 7172 from the mid-1990s.
