I'm new here so sorry in advance if I'm doing it incorrectly
You did very well for your first time (I mean, using the forum, not picking a bag)! Thank you for taking the time to read our rules! I believe the bag in the listing is fake. There are problems with the creed as well as other problems.

ETA: Can someone explain why a listing that is currently ended says "ended May 16, 2015, 4:03 AM"? If you look in the completeds, it shows as sold today.

ETA2: If you are the buyer, you should ask the seller to cancel the sale.

Thanks for the quick response! :)
D'oh! Trust me to pick a fake the first time out.
Do you mind explaining what was wrong with the bag that clued you in to it being fake? I thought it looked a little too plastic-y, but was hoping it was just forgotten in the back of someone's closet.

You're welcome; sorry it happened to you and I hope it won't discourage you. Actually it isn't a very obvious fake. The first thing to notice is how crooked the creed is stamped. There are certain creed prefixes that are used often by counterfeiters and J6D is one of them. It doesn't mean the all bags with that prefix are fake. In this case, the font of the numbers is wrong, the "o" in "No." is too big, and the underline is too long. You can barely see it in the picture, but the back of the turnlock (9th photo) looks like there are grooves where the folded triangles fit. Only certain brands of turnlocks have these grooves, and those weren't the brand Coach used when this bag was supposedly made.

ETA: this listing has an authentic J6D creed. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-J6D-9...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
It is a different style but you can see how it differs from the fake.

According to my records, this isn't 1love_things06 's first fake. I reported a fake with an invalid serial number beginning with GAD in July, 2014.

Interesting. I'm trying to get enough posts here so that I can also post bags I'm needing to authenticate. I've learned much about Coach just from reading these posts. Appreciate the resource.
You don't need to have a certain number of posts to make requests. See post #1 for the information and posting format and use the paperclip icon (at top center of reply box) to attach images.

Hi, first time in this forum. Would appreciate if someone can authenticate this for me!

Item: Coach Madison Small Phoebe

Thanks a lot!

Please read post number One in this thread for a list of the information we need.

Post either the URL of the listing where it was or is being purchased from. Or if you own it, we need photos of the front, back and inside of the bag as well as the creed and serial number, plus any tags that might still be on the bag and any fabric tags inside the bag. A creed photo just by itself isn't enough to prove it's authentic without photos of the bag.
