eBay Listing 301585026489

I was sold this Coach Vintage Belt Bag & returned telling seller why it was not authentic. First thing I noticed was that the hardware is all wrong. Also sloppy sewing, Coach Bean Bag in creed, piping & strap not a perfect match in color & not even leather. She insisted that it was real, said she purchased from a major department store & resold it. I see the 2nd buyer is pleased with the bag. I'm positive I am correct about this, but I'll remove my eBay feed back if I am indeed wrong. This is my first post in Authenticate This so if more info is needed, I'll supply. Thanks

That bag is fake.

There were some fairly recent updates to Hyacinth's and Salearea's guides regarding bean bag creeds because it turned out that there are some authentic bags with "bean bag" text in the creed.

However there are still a lot of fakes, many of which have other obvious and not so obvious problems.

The bag you bought also have an invalid serial number, 0444-313. (A similar invalid number, 0444-315 is more common but -313 has been seen before too.)

The fact that the seller queensattic111 relisted the bag after having had it returned and having not verified authenticity indicates that she's aware of the problems and not doing the right thing.

Sellers like this earn negative feedback, IMO.

This is the one you bought:

Thanks. I was positive it was fake, but I'd never want to unjustly leave negative feedback. I would not have left negative if the seller had not resold the bag. It was reported to eBay BEFORE she relisted it, but nothing was done.

In a case like this, the seller deserved a neg.

Honest sellers can and do make mistakes. We're all human and can err. But a good seller would do some research, perhaps posting her pictures here or the ebay fashion boards to find out whether the allegation is accurate or not before relisting.

Good morning ladies! Posting for a friend. Anyone have any experience with this seller?

Item: Black Abbie
Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/231702963/vintage-tiny-black-leather-coach-cross?ref=shop_home_active_2

Seller: Vintage Midwestern

Comments: Does anyone remember what the MSRP was?

Thanks!!!!

FAKE.

The D6J- prefix was never used for a handbag plant AFAIK. That prefix has ONLY been found in clothing items, specifically leather jackets.

Note the serial number font and the too-long underscore under the "No" below from a listing for a genuine Beresford Suede Jacket.

Comments: I've never seen a hangtag like that before. Thank you experts!

It's an actual Coach hangtag but it's NOT original to the bag, Madisons had a matching leather hangtag. This kind was used on a few styles at least 5 years later. It's not the original Madison Collection dustbag either.

Of course, that's why I explained & I told her to check it out. She did NOT buy it from an authorized Coach department store as she claims. I see that the listing has now been removed. But, she'd already sold it twice.

Maybe now she will understand why we recommend that unless a seller is expert, items purchased on the secondary market should be authenticated prior to listing them.

I like to think that when a listing is removed, a buyer who gets the takedown notice about the item will take the time to question authenticity or ask questions as to why the listing was removed and perhaps demand a refund from the seller.
