Genuine Dakota Rider bag, style 4200 from 1991 or 1992.
Hello, I'm new here. I have been searching for the name of this type of Coach bag for days! Just bought one from Ebay last week and it is scheduled to be delivered in the next few days. The seller listed it as a Sheridan, no wonder I could not find out any information about it! I'm hoping it is as good as it looked in the photos, and is the real deal. I didn't pay much for it, so at least I won't be out too much of my hard earned cash! I'll post a photo when it arrives.

Hello, and welcome to tPF!

There's a Pinned "Read Me" post at the top of most pages in this thread listing the photos and information we need for an authentication. Looking forward to seeing your "new" Coach!

Good evening all - this is actually my Poshmark listing I sold and buyer just said she was told it is fake. I thought i authenticated here but cannot find it. I would feel horrible if I sold a fake and will def refund the buyer but just wanted to run it by you all first. Thanks so much! Seller: drahoroky
The bag is authentic, made in 1999.

Did the buyer say why she thinks (or why someone told her) it's fake?

I'm kind of surprised that buyer would question it because she's also a Coach seller on another Poshmark ID as well as Etsy and Ebay!

There's NOTHING wrong with it.

I don't see ANYTHING wrong with it. The serial number font matches other genuine bags in my files and the details of the bag are all correct.

Did the buyer say WHY some nitwit thought it was fake, and where is this information coming from? If someone can't say WHY they're making a statement like that, they have no case and nothing to back up their opinion. Finding some BS in an online "authenticity guide" is never proof ao anything, if that's where this is coming from. Is the "expert" who's voicing this opinion also on Poshmark, and what are their qualifications? As soon as someone starts playing the "fake" card, demand that they provide proof.

The bag is genuine and your buyer needs to be a lot more careful about unqualified opinions that may even be coming from someone holding a grudge. Do the other PM members know you're a tPF member?

Thanks so much - I was a little surprised at her mean feedback - I did put a message on her page asking who authenticated for her and told her I was having it authenticated myself. Havent received a response yet. I’m definitely not going to argue with her - she can return if she likes. I just feel bad she gave me a bad review - I really enjoy rehabbing bags to sell and keep for myself :(

I don't use Poshmark so I didn't even know people can leave you undeserved and BS feedback!

Good evening! Seeking authentication and some information :)

Item: Small bifold wallet with kisslock
Seller: theos_attic
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/184534254241
Comments: I bought this wallet a few days ago, I actually already have a similar one in a different color and I LOVE it. But I don’t see much info about vintage Coach wallets here or elsewhere online...unless I’ve missed a thread here (totally possible, I’ve only been collecting a bit more seriously and rehabbing a little since quarantine!). So I don’t know (1) the name of this style, (2) the style number, or (3) what years it was made and in what colors. So any extra info you can provide me on this style, or point me toward other resources, would be so appreciated!

It's authentic. I believe it was called wallet/purse. The style number 4635. I found it in 1983 and 1986 catalogs. I have no idea how long it was made. You can see the colors listed in the attached ad.

Okay, this is weird. If the bag is alleged to be fake (WHICH It IS NOT), why is that same bag listed on Etsy?

Compare the creeds as well as the mark on the right side of the creed. There's another mark on both creeds between the Coach cartouche and the bullet.

@MedicMom, your creed is on the left.

Quite the markup at that. Good eye.
