I believe it's genuine but that's not in any way a solid authentication. I have no idea why anyone would do that to a creed patch unless they thought it was fake or didn't want to make it easy to sell to someone else. There's definitely no way I'd ever recommend that anyone buy it for resale.

More opinions are welcome.
Oh good grief!

The bag is authentic.

But obviously, the store where she purchased it thinks that if they obliterate anything identifying the brand, it covers them in the case of a fake. (That's totally incorrect though. Fakes are illegal to sell PERIOD.)

Her info about the bag being a full-priced style (not MFF) if it doesn't have an "F" is incorrect. There was a time that Coach didn't identify MFF bags with an F. Instead, they used the bullet stamp for outlet bags.

Although it's hard (if not impossible) to see in the picture, her replies to questions says that there's a Z in front of the style number. That means that the bag is a style that was made to be sold at a discounter such as Nordstrom Rack.

Thank you both. Luckily I won’t be looking to resell, I like the bag. I thought after posting here and getting opinions on it being authentic, I’d be more inclined to buy, but I can’t seem to commit!

It's fine.

It's a genuine 1999 reissue or MFF (made for Factory Outlet Stores) remake of the Classic Shoulder Bag. Coach remade a lot of classic styles in the 1990s, usually as outlet store bags or "catalog only" items.

Thanks Hyacinth. I was wondering why the creed was G9C if the originals were made in 1983. (I found this pic online otherwise I didn't know the original date). This is why I love this forum. I learn so much. Thank you again. Have a great night. ♥️

I'm thinking the serial numbers are wonky, but I definitely defer to you, my favorite experts.

Haunted by the idea of a vintage duffle in some purple. I realize that, compared to my usual bags, this is a doll purse. Still curious.

Seller refers to "a few speckles were the color is coming off on one side." What does this mean? Are they ink marks or some kind of tear in the leather? Help me, rehabbers!

The bag is authentic.

I don't rehab and can't comment of the fixability.

The marks are black! They could be ink or grease. It sort of looks lighter around the marks, like someone tried to clean them off and bleached the leather around them.

Hi, I would like help authenticating a Coach Station handbag (5130). I bought the bag on Mercari and when it arrived I looked over the bag and it seems real. The creed is light; it almost blends in with the leather. I am also concerned about the color change at the seams. The bag is weighty. I tried to capture pics while dunking it to give a better picture.
