Hi!

Not sure if this is the right topic, but my mom has this bag in a light brown colour that she isn't using.
It has no creed but it has a hangtag.

Is it for real worth this much money??
I was going to use it but if it's this expensive, maybe not

You said your mom has a bag LIKE this?

There's no way we can give ANY kind of opinion or advice without pictures of the actual bag your mom owns. Fakes and knock-offs can look just like name brand bags. And a hangtag doesn't prove anything, those can be removed and replaced in about 5 seconds. We've seen dozens of generic no-name purses that someone slapped a hangtag on and convinced some inexperienced shopper to buy thinking it was worth something. That's one reason why hangtags can NEVER be used for authenticating.

If you can provide pictures of the actual bag as well as any marks or stamps on the inside or outside including on the hardware, we can take a look. But unless it has some kind of verifiable Coach marking, stamp, tag or lining it would still be almost impossible to authenticate.

Here are a couple of comps.

Note that 2 creeds from 2 of the same style bags made in the same month/year/plant would have IDENtICAL creeds. Text, font, stitching, spacing, etc. should be identical. Look carefully at the differences.

Did you get this bag from the same seller (on Facebook) from whom you bought this one, where you said the seller claims her items are from the US? That seller was in the UAE and on facebook is

IF YOUR FRIEND PAID WITH A CREDIT CARD, SHE SHOULD OPEN A DISPUTE WITH THE C.C. COMPANY AND NOT BE BUYING ONLINE.
I'm not sure whether this bag was authenticated. I just went back to look at your previous posts and authentication requests and it looks like you or your friends are making some poor purchases.

The bag you posted from Facebook seller "Signature Lines" is absolutely and unquestionably fake.

I'm not sure whether I noticed or commented the first time, but the creed has a date code that claims it was made in September, 2046! That's 26 years in the future!

This is another bag that should be returned.

I hope we could still get our money back. Lesson learned, never ever buy on Facebook for Luxury items. This is such a painful experience. I’m not gonna repeat it again. Thank you so much for your help. I am still lucky that i found this forum to prevent me from buying fake items in the future. Will be posting here first before buying some bags online.

That makes sense!
Thank you I'll go and take some pictures soon!

I've been a little nervous to do this, but I am going to post a few bags I bought before I had any authenticated here. I don't see any problems with them, but I am not an expert. Not selling, just wanting to be sure. If anyone would kindly take a look at them it would be very much appreciated. I would be happy to post/take more pics. Thank you!

Dear authenticators, request to authenticate please. Thank you!!!

Item: City Spectator bag
Where purchased or how obtained: thrift store
Comments: dimensions are 7 1/2" height, 11" width, 4" depth. This was one of my first purchase while thrifting, before I was aware of tpf, so I do not recall having this authenticated here and the faint creed is a concern. The bag is nice and workmanship is beautiful so I am hoping.....

Other than not being able to read the entire serial number, I don't see any problems. It's a genuine City Bag Spectator, style 6790 probably made in or around 1991 but that's just a guess since the year code isn't readable but that's the only version I can remember with that exact color combination made before 1994 when style numbers became part of the serial number.

Item: unicorn field tote.

Comment: pretty sure this is fake as well.

Without clear photo of the creeds, there's just no way to tell. But that alone would be enough to avoid buying any of them. It's just not worth the risk, especially from PM.

But as you know, I don't know diddly-squat about recent styles. If you have a gut feeling about a bag or that the seller has a bad track record, then better to be safe than sorry, especially these days when scammers are having a field day.
