    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:

Hudson backpack?
Thanks in advance
WTF? Who do they use for authenticators?!?!?!?

This explains why there are so many mistakes made on that site -- with fakes being sold as authentic and authentic items charged as fake.

ETA again: And papabailey (the Poshmark authenticator) claims to have worked at Coach fraud prevention for 20 years?

ETA: As pointed out several years ago, there are some anomalies with the creed but that prefix HAS been seen and it matches others from the same year and plant:

So I take that as an authentic Hudson backpack?:heart::heart:

I have a few comments.

Without a picture of the creed, we can't make a credible comment on authenticity but even knowing that the bag has a "supposed" same serial number, I recommend against buying it. (And why wouldn't the seller SHOW you a picture of the creed?!?)

Considering the lack of the creed photo (and any other definitive pictures), the seller's description of the serial number and the seller's 97% feedback which includes a "fake" allegation, izato-88 isn't a seller I recommend.

In general, a good rule of thumb (even with a great seller) is to avoid listings with sample creeds/serial numbers as they cannot be authenticated.
@BeenBurned...Thank you for your wise counsel. I won’t be bidding on this bag. Someone is going to be sorely disappointed x

I don't know if that's the "official" name of the bag but yes, it's authentic. (And for the record, the authenticator's statement of "Coach never used this lining," that's nonsense. Both Sonoma and Hudson bags have the lining.)

I agree completely with BeenBurned. I've even found another bag from the same plant, year and month INCLUDING the usually invalid month code and from 1998, with a stamped mark that indicates it's genuine. Definitely a Hudson, a bit earlier than most but still within the time period when the Hudson line was in the stores and catalogs. Both the lining and all the creed and serial details are correct for an early Hudson bag.

ETA - And as for PAPABAILEY aka Ms Fraud Prevention, as I mentioned in my response to what BeenBurned posted back in February about that "authenticator and Fraud Prevention expert" at Posh, in the mostly-words of Inigo Montoya, "I do not believer those words mean what she thinks they do".

Hello, Would you please authenticate this pouch? Someone is telling me that it is fake because it does not have a creed. I tried to explain that not all Coach items have creed numbers. I realize that the box does not match, but it is an older picture from when I first started collecting pouches and I got it from a friend. I would like to have the pouch authenticated so that I can move on please. The pouch is about 7.45" x 4" x 2"

Here are a couple more pics
It's authentic and I believe a chunky case.

If the "someone" is an ebay member who is alleging that you're selling a fake, PLEASE let me know her ID so I can block! I dare say that none of us who sell need someone who doesn't know what she's talking about accuse us of selling a fake.

Dear authenticators, can you please authenticate this bag? This was sent to me as an early christmas gift. I was just wondering about the hang tag and the creed that’s the first time i saw that kind.

Item: Coach Riley Top Handle 22 in Signature Canvas
Dimension: 9” x 6.5” x 4”
