You're welcome! Thanks for the heads up. When I receive the item, I'll double the check the strap to see if it has been altered or just measured incorrectly.
Thanks again! Can't wait to get it in the mail!

Legit looking Beaumont - could this be a case of the factory "not getting the memo" about the letter I or ?? another scary good fake?

I think this one is fake too. It has some of the same problems like the other one. The two lines of stitching across the top of the bag are too far apart, making the leather overhang below the stitching on the inside too skinny. Compare it to these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-COACH-...490?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item1e89c75b3a

The leather on the inside bottom should cover up the side seams. On this one, the leather was placed in the bottom before the side seams were sewn. That is why you are seeing that sloppy edge.
Yep, just a mistake. I've found 4 *8B- serials all in apparently genuine bags with the correct style numbers and a mix of different months, all in the same font as that one.
You're welcome! It helps to have one in hand to compare with. Thanks, Whateve, it looked pretty messy but it's good to have confirmation from you.![]()
Please post a link to the Etsy listing as well as the seller ID. The pictures in the listing might be adequate for authentication.Hmmm I bought a bucket on etsy, sky blue, pics were terrible, it seemed ok, but now I'm wondering if it's real...I will post pics if I can figure out how to upload pics somehow, I will post. It was pretty cheap, and it's a really cute bag, I hope it's ok. The creed is not evenly stamped, and fades out at the bottom, the serial is so faint now I can't read it, after washing it...hrmm.
I don't know how much the listing will tell, really haha...pics are almost worthless, I just took a stab, since it was listed for pretty cheap. The seller seems to mostly sell slightly altered thrift clothes, and this was an odd item. I just crossed my fingers. Please post a link to the Etsy listing as well as the seller ID. I believe it is fake. The color of the thread really bothers me. The creed is terrible. The lozenge has too many frames. We've seen that font on many fakes. Compare it to this G plant creed from the same year.Title: COACH ~Bonnie Cashin~Coach Bag ~British Tan~9927 Bag ~Briefcase~ Cross Body

Comments: This seller debbieb208 and her Etsy alterego, GutsyGirls have been discussed with multiple fakes in the last month and a half, some of which were removed and relisted several times.
Although I know this bag (if authentic) wouldn't be a "Bonnie Cashin" as described (since it would have been made 20 years after her death), I'm wondering whether it was made by Coach.
The serial number font looks off, the pillow above the turnlock seems to be missing the row of stitching and the dowel end appears to be bare painted wood.

I can't read the creed in the photos. We can check some things even if we can't read the creed. I'm assuming this is a Helen's Legacy #9953. It was made in this color in 1997 and possibly later. If you can read any part of the number, it might help. I would like to see a straight-on shot of the pocket showing its shape and its relative size to the inside of the bag, just like this picture. I also need to see the zipper pull, showing the shape and the stitching. If there is anything stamped on the buckles, I'll need to see that too.I don't know how much the listing will tell, really haha...pics are almost worthless, I just took a stab, since it was listed for pretty cheap. The pocket shape is one of the things that bugged me straight off, it's more round than that, and I'm pretty sure the number is not rightI can't read the creed in the photos. I'm sorry. I see rounded pockets on a lot of fakes. Another mistake we see is that they don't stitch all the way around the zipper pull. The pocket shape is one of the things that bugged me straight off, it's more round than that, and I'm pretty sure the number is not rightI really wanted it to be good, blaaaah.
Looks like a fake, then...well now I wonder what do I do with it?! :/ first time I've bagged a fake (oh terrible pun). The seller probably found it at some thrift store, and had no idea. Such a pretty color, bummer.I'm sorry. I see rounded pockets on a lot of fakes. Another mistake we see is that they don't stitch all the way around the zipper pull.
