Or you could salute the exact opposite of of those style trends and have a Robert Palmer flashback (not sure if we can link to YouTube videos, but here goes)

The Swagger seems ok, I just wish they'd have shown the other end of the zipper in their photos.

Oh, how I love love love that video. That takes me back. Thanks for bringing that back to me, seriously. Now I want to have a dance party. Here are two pictures of the zipper on the Swagger. Green Swagger Zipper1.jpg

This thread is amazing. Thank you to those who authenticate these bags. I've always loved vintage Coach and I'm always looking and sometimes buying. I'm very new to this site. I joined awhile ago but haven't quite got a handle on posting. I have a few bags in my collection that I would like to post here but can't seem to do so without using a website link. Is there a way to do that? I apologize if this isn't the place for this question. I've been on this site for ages today (what a rabbit hole I've stumbled into!) but I still haven't figured out how to post from my photo
library. Thank you!

Scroll down to the FAQs section, go to General Forum Usage, and read the section on posting Images. The photos can be stored at a photo-hosting website like Photobucket and you can just post a link to that particular album as long as it's saved at the site in a Public album.

Or you can use the Manage Attachments link a few inches below the Reply box - and follow the prompts if you want to use a photo that's stored as a photo in a folder on your compurter. Be sure your photos fall under the maximum size limits.

A couple years ago I bought a cute denim jacket with some silver sequins and large shoulder pads. I cut the pads out to "modernize" it and get compliments. Just shows some old fashions can be worn again!

There's a lot of interest in Vintage recently. Well, most of it anyway! Some styles like the Leisure Suit are, we HOPE, gone for good, but it's fun to bring out the old stuff once in a while and in my case at least, wish I could still fit in them. :D

Speaking of which, this is an interesting show on, believe it or not, Smithsonian Channel. It's all vintage clothing, no handbags that I've noticed and surprisingly, no Cashin styles yet, but it's nice to get a look at some really drool-worthy clothes from the 70s and 80s back to the early 20th century. And the store owner is a firm believer in re-purposing older fashions to create something unique.

(ETA - Looks like it temporarily disappeared but it might be on Hulu or Netflix.)

Is this authentic? If so, do you have the style name? Thanks!

What do you think about ebay's new photo enhancement? The first photo has had the background removed. It's a new experiment by ebay. Does it make you more likely, or less likely, to look at the listing or consider buying it?

Good question. . . in looking back at the listing, the first photo causes the bag to look anemic. My personal feeling is that they should let the seller take the pic, the way they want to and not mess with it!

Hi,

I recently purchased this Madison Phoebe from eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Authe...851?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cf8c1004b

I already have a Phoebe in chestnut, so when the purse arrived, I started comparing.

Since this is the larger version, I don't know if the differences are due to being slightly different models or something else.

1) The leather hangtag is larger and the design is different. If you look closely, the word coach is in a different location on the tag.

2) The metal looks different. Different color, and duller. Also, the word coach is stamped on the metal part of the strap on my chestnut bag, but nowhere on the new one.

Everything else seems legit. Does anyone know if the larger Phoebe uses a different metal than the smaller one or has different tags?ImageUploadedByPurseForum1431039138.083968.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1431039157.732775.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1431039178.993283.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1431039191.744940.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1431039203.860970.jpg

Please, my first ever authentication, thank-you. I don't know if my photos work here.. trying dropbox, they're not showing up in the preview.

I bought this hot mess from Goodwill today. Would love it if it's authentic.. but it's going to be a lot of work to fix up. Going to need a lot of glue on the strap, a good wash, and not sure how to fix the cigarette burn in the lining!!! :yucky: But the leather is so very nice and it was super cheap.. only this one has some weirdness like the out of order number/letter sequence. So, I would love to know from the experts, is it for real?

Measurements are approx. 13" L 9"H 6"D

Authentic Sonoma flap bag natural grain, my favorite Sonoma style! Post your pictures in the rehab thread for help in fixing it up. It would be easier if you could upload them to the forum so they could be viewed without having to click on a link.

Oh thank-you! Excited it's authentic!

I will definitely post to the rehab thread for help. I have been trying to figure out how to get the pictures to show up here. Somehow I have done it before but I don't know what I did differently.. I will keep on investigating.
Thanks again!
