Thank you and be safe!

The Backpack creed is the one that's totally illegible, and it shouldn't be, genuine Coach stampings usually don't wear down that fast.. But not only does the Tote have brass buckles and silver strap grommets, the Backpack does too.

Both the serial number AND creed stampings in the Tote look off, along with the silver grommets. The Coach name in the cartouche is too small, the underline under the "No" is too short and is a dot instead of a line. Compare it to the two genuine serials below it - the fake on top, the real ones beneath.

ONE MORE REASON TO AVOID SELLER " oneloveswoosh " LIKE THE PLAGUE! Not only don't they make any effort to authenticate their items, but they also have NINE Neutrals and NINE NEGATIVES in the last 12 months. I remember when a cwap record like that would have gotten them kicked off Ebay!

SHEESH. Seller " oneloveswoosh " just doesn't know when to quit! Here's a Fake Waverly Tote with a bogus serial font AND fake buckles stamped "solid brass".

Thank you hyacinth. I never had any doubt, but somebody (I think somebody is harassing me) reported this bag to ebay, and they have "suspended my selling account". I will call them and try to find out more information. This is the third time in 6 weeks that I have had an authentic bag pulled, which is why i'm getting very suspicious!
thank you!!

Hmmm, I thought about adding "- or a competitor." to the end of my previous reply when I first typed it. Maybe I'm psychic? :graucho:

I hope you get reinstated ASAP.

Were the other bags that were pulled also bags with unique serial numbers?

I find this very troubling. If they are only removing vintage bags, I am inclined to think that someone working at ebay and seeing these reports is removing them because they don't understand Coach used unique serial numbers.

It's really hard to see details of the bag, the lighting is very weak and the focus in some shots isn't good either. I wouldn't want to be asked to give a written authentication based just on those photos.

Pockets sometimes had a different grain than the rest of the bag, it was a way for Coach to use up leather that wasn't the same grain as the rest of the bag. I don't see anything that looks like a problem.
Thanks, so sorry about the bad pictures, didn't realize they were so bad until I posted. I will send a few more that might be better. I think the bag is fine as, other than the leather difference on the pocket and the hangtag everything else looks really good. It just looks so new for a bag in the 20ish year old age.

the first bag was a 'pre-serial' NYC and they argued that it must not be authentic because it has no serial number. duh. they finally approved it, but i had sold it already on etsy.

the second was an 'amanda 2012' remake of the "pony express"; they objected to my using "pony express style" in the title, so i guess that's fair (even though others have done it, and it is an exact legacy remake of that wonderful bag)

and this one, a typical mid-80s NYC bag. they objected to the serial number (probably because there are no letters in it, only numbers). i sent them hyacinth's authentication, along with "salearea description of vintage coach serial numbers' we'll see what they say.

either somebody (a competitor) is hounding me [i have a pretty good hunch who it might be] or sheer coincidence, or when you're on their radar, you get scrutinized extra hard?

but this is just silly. all these bags are authentic!!

Whoa, you were able to argue your case? I talked to 2 people (the first was very brief; Grace was the second one it was "escalated" to ) about my 2 pulled '80's NYC bags, and neither one gave a :censor: about what I had to say, and of course, didn't know anything at all about Coach creeds or why their "experts" deemed them fakes. What's your secret to get them to listen, should I get into trouble with my other listings? I wouldn't be surprised if they have me in their sights now.

well, i have no idea how it will play out. i guess i'll have to see whether they reconsider in their collective wisdom!! they seem to know so little about vintage pre-1994 NYC bags though.

I would like to have this bag checked for authenticity. It is my personal bag, a vintage coach carrier. I listed it on ebay and they have pulled it. i have no idea why! please let me know what you think about its authenticity. i have had many carriers, and this seems no different from the others? thank you

I think someone is maliciously reporting authentic vintage bags as fake.

One suggestion is to contact Ina at ecommercebytes to see if she can help.

but why would somebody do that? most of us (well, myself at least) are not professional sellers. we sell occasional bags when we go overboard buying, but we are hardly a threat to the 'power-sellers'

i am getting very suspicious though, after three bags in 6 weeks. that's just too weird!!!

Me too. If my closet is getting too full, if my budget is getting too high, or I acquire samples that don't work for me, I sell what I'm not in love with. It's not my day job, just a hobby.

Is it possible that eBay fancies themselves Coach experts, since they have their own (misguided) guide, so now they're just running around willy nilly doing dumb things?
I wonder how many sellers this is happening to that don't come to TPF to complain?
I can't see the benefit of anyone going after my 2 pulled listings; they really weren't very special.
