It's authentic. It's a Legacy hobo 9058 made in 2001 in the US.

I don't understand why you feel comfortable buying an expensive bag you didn't know anything about from a seller without a track record and with lousy pictures.

I see it as truth telling, not sniping.....

Or, "once bitten, twice shy".

Or also, "fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, shame on you".

And even "a fool and his money are soon parted".

I think you misunderstood how the word "Sniped" is being used here. It has nothing to do with criticizing someone else's opinion, if that's what you're seeing. "Sniping" when used in connection with auctions or forum posts about auctions just means that someone else entered a winning bid or posted a reply in a forum just seconds before you did.

From the Cambridge Dictionary:
sniping
noun
us

/ˈsnaɪ.pɪŋ/ uk

/ˈsnaɪ.pɪŋ/

sniping noun (CRITICISM)

unpleasant criticism:
He has been subjected to constant sniping and questioning of his achievements.
She is angered by the continual sniping from the sidelines.

More examples

But it's the definition in the UrbanDictionary related to online auctions that I was using. The term is used at tPF for a post by another poster that answers someone's question just seconds or minutes before your own post does:

sniping
the act of bidding on an item on ebay literally seconds before the auction ends. This prevents anyone from outbidding you while also ensuring that you don't bump the price up too much.
rather than bidding early and inflate the price, Geraldo waited until the last couple seconds of the auction for the pimp cup he was bidding on before placing his bid. He succeeded in sniping the item.

Comments: The creed looks off and doesn't read like this other listing which is similar, although a slightly different style.

Comment: From the research in this thread, this seems to match other creeds.

I'm trying to educate myself on these bags as I plan to go to an estate sale tomorrow that has one advertised and I want to know what to look for. Thanks.

Thank you for the authentication. Gosh, I made the purchase after I thought I had received authentication and didn’t realize that the email wasn’t directed at me. I wanted a purse made in the US that had the older leather interior, not cloth. I wanted one from a private seller not a purse dealer. This was listed as new without tags “one owner” purse. I offered $155 before taxes and shipping. And yes it was more expensive than I should have paid but I find it’s hard to find purses sold by private sellers. Do you have any suggestions going forward? Again, thank you for the authentication and comments.

You're welcome! I guess I'm not sure what you mean by private sellers. I believe the majority of sellers on ebay are private. Most are like me, just selling as a hobby or getting rid of things they no longer own. I don't think you can trust every listing that says new without tags. You may have gotten lucky in this case.

This style is made with thinner leather than classic vintage styles. It is lighterweight and more flexible than some of the classic styles. I hope that is what you were looking for.

You might want to look at some other threads in the forum to get an idea as to what styles meet your requirements. You could visit the vintage chat thread, what Coach are you carrying today, and the reference library.

Both are genuine, Coach changed creed and serial number details often.

There are actualy 3 different sizes of the Cabin Bag. Style 502 is the medium, style 503 is the Large. Coach bags, briefcases, luggage and other items made before 1994 will not include the style number as part of the serial number. The first one you asked about is a pre-1994 item.

It's an authentic Janice legacy from 1997 but the dust bag shown in the listing is fake.
