Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

Please read the Salearea Guide on the YKK Zipper myth if you haven't already. In fact the best thing to do is to read all six of the Salearea Guides (the thread is Pinned to the top of almost every Coach Shopping Forums page) if you haven't come across them yet in your travels through the Coach forums here.

And I hope, with all the warnings we've posted here about Poshmark being one of the worst offenders when it comes to selling fakes and then making it very hard getting refunds for fake items, that you had the bag authenticated here at tPF before you bought it?

The creed shows the bag to be genuine. If you're asking what a previous owner might have done, that's not really something we can answer without a time machine or a TARDIS. All we can say is maybe it was replaced. Or maybe an owner or seller cleaned it with something that affected how smoothly it works. The leather pull tab looks brand new, which would seem to indicate a replacement (or maybe a bag that was hardly ever used). The fact that it doesn't say YKK means absolutely NOTHING. Read my Signature under all my posts, and read the Salearea Guides.

thank you! Im one of those “buy now, authenticate later” to avoid fomo people but next time I will definitely authenticate my posh purchases beforehand because you’re right. I was under the false impression that all coach bags had either talon, ykk or ideal zippers. I will definitely read the guides and educate myself. I looked through a handful of wendie listings and from the few I could zoom in on, they had the same zipper as mine. Sorry for being so ignorant about the zipper myth, I appreciate your help! :)

I don't know where you're hearing or reading that logos on the inside fabric are fake. There are literally hundreds of genuine Coach styles with logos or Cs on the inside fabric. It's only a problem when there are also logos or Cs on the OUTSIDE of the bag too. Be VERY wary about information like this that you read on the internet, much of it is totally wrong, or easily misunderstood and misinterpreted.

The bag is a genuine and made in 2003.
