Thank you and be safe!

It's probably not reportable without a creed photo but aside from the invalid prefix, there's no way that Kiwi-colored bag is a style 4140, that belongs to a Lafayette Bag that's almost twice the size of the small bag in the pics and wouldn't have a turnlock either. Turnlocks on bags with Soho or Lightweight line style numbers are usually a big red flag.

ETA - Just saw the extra photos - complete FAKE. Get your money back ASAP. The two black ones look ok.
I knew it was no good - but I always want to confirm before letting the seller know.
Thanks much as always!!

Here is another 'Stewardess' from the Fake & Fool File. I stupidly bought this last minute using my cell..so failed to catch the strap grommets. The seller cleverly concealed the awful storyboard numbers. I requested a refund but the seller is adamant it is genuine & refuses to refund..sooo.. it will be up to eBay. I did recommend her to both the salearea info & to this site. I am posting both the listing (after the fact reporting would be welcome)! and a few of my own photos. Opinions please! TIA

(Sorry for being late to the party on this one.) I saw a stewardess that started with a S in the creed too!! Besides that obvious red flag, it was a pretty decent fake. Unless you saw the creed you'd never know!

I mistakenly posted in the wrong format earlier. I hope this is right. Thanks!

That's a really interesting fake! Anytime you see the word "scratches" misspelled, you can be sure it is fake. The creed appears to have the correct style number and what almost looks like an outlet stamp. It's odd that they paid attention to certain details and then totally missed on others, like a date and plant code.

I'm not familiar with these wallets but I don't see any problems. More opinions are welcome.

Quote from BeenBurned -
EDITED TO ADD
: I just went back to the Facebook page and found the map showing where this seller is located, and sure enough, it's in the Philippines.

For several years, we've been watching Filippino sellers with scary close fakes listing and selling those bags on ebay. And we've recommended AGAINST doing business with sellers in the Phillippines.

Although we all want to support the economy in our country, I would recommend buyers from the Philippines go outside the country.

They even include a "gift receipt" to a Coach outlet! :wtf:[/QUOTE]

Thanks so much! The seller says the bag with the gift receipt was bought from the US. The others without it were from "factory" in China.

The seller is from Philippines, so am I.

Btw, how were you able to tell that the bag i posted is a fake? The first time I saw it, it appears real to me. Until I compared it with that of a workmate which was bought in US.

They all seem okay.

Greetings and Happy New Year! (a few days behind)

I have a few GW purchases I'd like to have authenticated please. This first one I feel good enough about that I've already cleaned her up but wanted to check for sure. I did a search of the number and found one previous post but the photos had expired.

Chelsea Leather Hobo? G8D-6003
10 1/2" long x 9 3/4" tall x 4" deep (best guess with rounded edges!)
black fabric lining with Coach lozenge jacquard, Coach stamped on side buckles

A seller who has all fakes but claims that one item is authentic isn't a seller I would want to do business with. As one of the TV judges says, "I wouldn't believe her if her tongue came notarized."

I'd rather not get too specific as to what's wrong with the bags that seller has on her Facebook page because someone who has such a large inventory is going to need to sell them to recoup her investment. If she knows what NOT to show, it'll make it easier for her to fool buyers into thinking they got the real deal.

The problem we've seen with Filippino items is that the fakes are extremely close to what the genuine items should look like. Patterns appear correct, stitching isn't as sloppy as obvious fakes, colors appear correct, etc. Often it takes a very experienced eye to catch the differences.

Sometimes the creed will have an incorrect style number. Or the serial number will have a date code that was prior to the style being made, Sometimes the thread or lining colors or materials will be slightly off, but not "off" enough that it's easy to catch.

Obviously, these are "better" and more expensive fakes than others and will be easier for scammers to fool unknowing buyers. These fakes are (IMO) purposely purchased with the purpose of fooling buyers because the prices charged are comparable (and sometimes more) to what one can get the authentic version for.

Though there are probably some honest sellers in the Philippines, I wouldn't recommend buying designer items from sellers there. Sorry.

Here is the next one. I found one like it for sale on the Bay but that may be meaningless...

Coach Clutch or Organizer? L6M-9833 (Name would be appreciated)
11" long x 7" tall x 2.5" deep
Gold toned magnetic snap at zipper end, lined in black matte fabric- probably nylon.
Came with wrist strap with small brass dog leash clip and Coach embossed brass rivet-- was this original or an add-on? Seems a little clumsy with the small leather zipper pull.

This seems ok but wanted to be sure. Not many photos because it looks the same from both sides.

Coach Ergo Leather Hobo K2O-9219
12" long x 7" tall x 4" deep although this is another with all rounded edges
Has a polished nickel hang tag for the zipper pull-- I think it is missing a longer leather clip on pull.

And this last one which seems the most mysterious (and dubious!)

Name? C0K-9460
10" long x 11" tall x 1" deep with adjustable strap approx 45" max length

This is a super soft sueded leather with the creed patch from the same type of leather (creed photo came out much lighter than IRL). Almost full length front flap and magnetic snap closure at the top of the inside compartment. Brushed nickel hardware and the strap has a ball adjustment instead of a buckle (more like vintage Dooney bags). I found one post for authentication of the same serial number from Salearea back in April 2010 but the photos had expired and there didn't seem to be any response to the post.

Thanks for all of your help!
