What I have so far.

This is a bag with a top zipper, an interior flap, no markings on the outside, and a double strap.
The serial number is on a flap/pouch on the inside of the purse.

Item Name: basic bag convertible clutch
Purse Style: 9455 basic bag
Estimated Year: 1975

I havent found any information about this bag in this color/ pebbled leather though.

Thank you so much in advance!

It is an authentic basic bag, also called a zippered clutch. It was never called a convertible clutch, as that is a different style. I doubt it was made as early as 1975. It was made anytime from the late 70s to the late 80s. I can't see the sides very well in your pictures, but we have a theory that the bags with shorter tabs on the sides may be earlier versions. The leather wasn't intentionally pebbled. Yours is more pebbled than most, but that may be from age or condition. It would benefit from a bath and moisturizing. Colors are very difficult to pin down. I see 3 or 4 different different shades in your pictures, depending on the light. It might be tabac or putty.

Thank you-- it makes so much more sense now! The wrist strap is most likely original to the bag but it was meant to attach to the little ring just inside the bag rather than to the main zipper. I've just tried this and it is so much better. Thanks again!

I bought 2 of these at a GW back in 2005...gave the navy one to my sister and kept the BT one. Mine is missing the little ring inside, so you may want to use caution attaching the wrist strap there...just sayin' :)

Ina today: http://www.ecommercebytes.com/C/letters/blog.pl

Buyer accused seller and another seller of selling fake Coach. Seller got defect. Wonder what the buyer ID is.
That isn't me but I had something similar happen. I sold a wallet I had bought at the outlet. The buyer clicked on "return this item" and "item is counterfeit" for the reason. I replied that it was authentic and I had the receipt. She backed down immediately and said she was sorry. She decided to keep it. After talking to her, she said the reason she thought it was fake was because she had the same wallet but hers had a different color zipper. After I explained that different color wallets have different color zippers, she realized her mistake. She closed the return request but I still have a defect.

In my case, the buyer wanted to withdraw her claim but ebay doesn't let her do that. Even though we both agree it isn't fake, that defect is there for the next 11 months.

creed njg?

I'm posting this because I just realized (after finding another fake) that hungergames2010 and hungergames88 are the same seller with multiple IDs, both of whom have "histories" of listing and selling fakes.

I just discovered another fake, this time from hungergames88 .

And that bag's creed:

I don't recommend hungergames2010 or hungergames88.

Here are some of the previous fakes:

And in case there's any doubt in anyone's mind that they are the same person both from NY, NY, compare the pictures in these listings, one from each.

Thanks for the heads up. At first I was fiddling with that little ring thinking it might be a snap attachment. I figured out it is not but it does seem a bit vulnerable.

Here are another couple bags from GW that I've dug out of the rehab pile now that it's too cold to even think about going anywhere (and I'm not in the midwest where it's 10x worse!) TIA!

Coach Peyton Leather Flap 14524
12" long x 7" tall x 3" deep.
I love the melon color but not the big stain on the bottom :nogood:

And the second one...

Coach Backpack 9858
8" long x 10" tall x 4.5" deep
I'd love the real name of this bag too-- I've found West Legacy and West Studio and East West and a bunch of others in between.
