It looks fine to me. What is iffy about it?

I didn't comment because bags of this era aren't my area of expertise but I compared to others with the same prefix.

Here's the creed in question, followed by a creeds from other bags (different styles) made in same month/year/plant.

This looks just like the one above but with different text. (I think the text is correct for the bag it's on):

OK thanks whateve and BB.

Actually I should have said serial no not creed.

It was mainly the short stroke of the 'N' in 'No' but I can see that in BB's other examples though not in the Sonomas. There also seems to be a lot of strokes round the serial number which I thought may have been faked attempt to replicate the numbers on the stamp roll. It also seems to be too new for a bag of its age but obviously it just hasn't been used much.

Greetings and Happy New Year! (a few days behind)

I have a few GW purchases I'd like to have authenticated please. This first one I feel good enough about that I've already cleaned her up but wanted to check for sure. I did a search of the number and found one previous post but the photos had expired.

Chelsea Leather Hobo? G8D-6003
10 1/2" long x 9 3/4" tall x 4" deep (best guess with rounded edges!)
black fabric lining with Coach lozenge jacquard, Coach stamped on side buckles

Genuine Chelsea Hobo

I'd want to see photos of the rest of the bags with the -05** style numbers, they should be briefcases or travel bags.

The creeds by themselves and in the Ruby Lane listings seem ok

BTW, I'm also having a lot of computer problems especially on photo-heavy pages so there are some posts I might not be able to reply to.

Comments: I won the bid on this one and would love to get authentication. Looked good to me. They said it's an older bag and wondering what year this bag was made. Where do you find info for year and retail price on older style bags? Thanks in advance for helping. :)

Comments: Very fake bag I would say. No number on creed patch and C's not centered at all.

I reported this fake. It had one bidder that just won. Hope they can get their money back before it's shipped. No number and no space between CompletelyNatural. Stitching around cred is sloppy. Bag should be burned. :graucho::graucho:

A lot of counterfeiters like to put "1941" at the end of the creed, as if it is part of the same word.

Sorry. I was sort of in a hurry and should have posted links to the listings along with the creeds. I thought they looked good so didn't include the links.

Here they are:

This creed: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTgwWDYxNw...$_12.JPG?rt=nc
Goes with this listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Leath...231?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a4a48107f

This creed: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNj...$_57.JPG?rt=nc
Goes with this listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-Leath...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

This creed: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/ODc4WDEwMz...$_57.JPG?rt=nc
Came from this listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Brown...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Hyacinth's guides recommend that any bag with J4D as the prefix be looked at.

I think this is a listing that needs looking at. The lining and stamping look wrong. ;) TIA.

I found this listing for a style 9603 but it's made in 2002 and has signature lining. (This one is authentic.)

I think it looks good. (If authentic, it's style 93079.)

But there have been some very close fakes of this style so I'd wait for a second set of eyes to look at it.
