Any suggestions about color transfer on patent are welcomed...I've tried nearly EVERYTHING under my kitchen sink...Thanks in advance!

Genuine, can't help with the color transfer. Embossed(?) Patent Leather Small Leah, I think.

Comment: is it my eyes or is the serial prefix DJC?

That's what I see too. The font of the N in "No" is also too thick, and the inside pocket zipper pull is wrong. That kind of problem at the base of the strap isn't a good sign either.

It's not a Coach so I have no idea. It does look like a Bonnie Cashin design. I don't know why there is an Elizabeth Arden tag in there. As far as I know, Elizabeth Arden only did makeup.

It could have been a collaboration similar to the Estee Lauder/Coach package offered a couple of years ago. The Coach cosmetic case had an Estee Lauder logo zipper pull and was filled with Estee Lauder cosmetics..

She posted the creed in the Hall of Shame. The creed is F8J-6366, made in China. Based on the creed, I said it was fake. Coach didn't make signature bags in 1998 and they didn't use the J designation for China at the time.

I don't recommend starshiny. Clearly, this isn't a seller who does her homework before listing.

In looking at this seller's item, it looks good. Was this "customized?" Except for the grommets and lacing, it's indentical to others. None of the other listings for this style have the laced detail.

And if altered, shouldn't that be disclosed?

Genuine, but NOT original. That style never came with any lacing. And alterations should always be disclosed, whether done by the seller or by a previous owner. Someone expecting an original Coach deserves to know if their bag has been butchered somewhere along the way.
