Not even CLOSE to "Bonnie Cashin era" or even a Bonnie Cashin design. It's almost 20 years newer. Mulberry Bag, style 9899 from the 1992 Carriage Classics line.

Thank you Hyacinth. I appreciate your taking the time to let me know the style and date. I knew it wasn't a Bonnie Cashin era bag. I am getting so frustrated with the eBay sellers that describe everything as Bonnie Cashin or date things incorrectly.

Hi! Pls authenticate this for me?

Item name: park metro signature tote
Seller: https://www.facebook.com/salehunter.authentic?ref=ts&fref=ts

And another one
These are scary AND FAKE!

Would that happen to be a Philippines-based FB site? In case these seller SALEHUNTER on Facebook removes her pictures, I'm posting a few:

DO NOT BUY FROM SALEHUNTER.

EDITED TO ADD
: I just went back to the Facebook page and found the map showing where this seller is located, and sure enough, it's in the Philippines.

For several years, we've been watching Filippino sellers with scary close fakes listing and selling those bags on ebay. And we've recommended AGAINST doing business with sellers in the Phillippines.

Although we all want to support the economy in our country, I would recommend buyers from the Philippines go outside the country.

I guess it wouldn't be hard to counterfeit a piece of paper! Plastic around the handles is usually a dead giveaway.

Here is another 'Stewardess' from the Fake & Fool File. I stupidly bought this last minute using my cell..so failed to catch the strap grommets. The seller cleverly concealed the awful storyboard numbers. I requested a refund but the seller is adamant it is genuine & refuses to refund..sooo.. it will be up to eBay. I did recommend her to both the salearea info & to this site. I am posting both the listing (after the fact reporting would be welcome)! and a few of my own photos. Opinions please! TIA

Is this one authentic? I think this one was copied a lot.

item: Coach Lula's Legacy
I own
Links:

Serial number: D5D-9952 (first 5 - either a 5 or a 6)

Comments: After I washed it - it became streaky. Is this the "elephant skin"? I thought it was real until this happened. I thought I read that this heavier leather washes well. I try to read this thread every day but just recently attempting rehab. I don't want to put anymore time into it if I need to put in the throw away pile.

Aw that's a shame! The seller might have known it was fake, based on the how she took the photos. Other than the silver grommets, you can't really tell from the listing. It is definitely fake. That creed number would never be authentic, with the thick font and the invalid month code, and of course, the style number is wrong. The turnlock is fake since it has the grooves. It also appears to be missing a slip pocket on the front, under the flap. There should be another full length pocket there.

It looks fine. It should look better after conditioning. It is possible that it had been treated with something, like shoe polish, and you washed some of it away.

That isn't what we mean by elephant skin. The leather has wrinkles, like an elephant, and isn't the correct texture for high quality leather.

My guess is that the seller, 610golden76 knew the bag was fake and purposely didn't show the creed.

Save pictures from the listing in case it's reported and removed. Maybe an ebay message that the listing poofed will send a strong message as well as put a huge ding on her account.

ETA: Another suggestion is to leave appropriate feedback for the seller because once the listing is removed, you won't be able to leave feedback.

Thanks a lot Whateve..I was sure it was fake but wanted an expert opinion to back me up,
and another pair of eyes to spot something I missed entirely..the under flap pocket! And BTW..I didn't even mention the fact to her she listed it as NWT when it obviously was well used!:smile1:
