Hello everyone, I just got my hands on a vintage Audrey 9073... or so I hope. I searched the forums and found very few mentions of the 9073, though @whateve shared info about an authentic buckle being 1 1/8 inches (I included the buckle with a measuring tape ).

The stitching work and leather quality has the standard Coach detailing. Measurements are what the standard 9073 should be too (though the height is closer to 11in than 11.5in). However the creed is super faint, mostly unreadable. I can very barely make out the code part... it looks like a very faint BOD-9073, and under a certain light, I can read that it's made in the United States? Could it be the leather area has simply stretched out to cause the fading? One side of the hangtag has the same fading issue too - COACH logo is readable on one side, and fainter on the other.

Due to these issues I have my reservations about the authenticity. Is this an authentic 9073, or just a knock off with exceptional stitching and leather quality? Thank you for your help!

The bag is fine. The first letter looks like a B to me also and if so, was made in Feb. 2000.

Style 9073 is an Andrea bucket.

I feel relieved to hear that. You don't know how much you help ease our minds!! Thank you so much! :flowers::flowers:

This curious cat has some questions if you don't mind:
- Is it normal for the creed to fade with COACH? I've a few in my collection but have not seen such an extreme fade before (though with good leather I'm guessing it's normal).
- I learned (from here ) that COACH started using 4 characters in their code after x9x-xxxx. For curiosity's sake, what would a bag code look like if it was made in USA in 1990?

It's not common for creeds to fade to unreadable in unlined bags, but a lot depends on how the bags were treated and the type of leather used. It is more common for creeds to fade in bags with thinner leather and those that are unlined.

The first creed numbers had the format xxx-xxxx when they were first used in the mid 70s with unique serial numbers. They changed briefly to xxxx-xxx in the early 90s until 1994 when style numbers were used in creeds, then they went back to xxx-xxxx, until 2004 when they had to add a digit to the year code so they became xxxx-xxxx. Shortly after that, style numbers became longer than 4 digits and some plant codes were changed to 2 digits.

Did you mean that instead of and because then it would contradict "not common for creeds to fade in unlined bags"? Either that or I can't read lol

I meant it is more common to fade in bags with thinner leather and those that are lined. (not unlined.) Most creeds don't fade to unreadable in regular vintage bags. I don't know why that happened in your bag. Possibly it was washed and not dried properly afterwards.

Dear Authenticators,
If anyone has time to check this out I'd really appreciate it.
Item: Dinky
Item number: 133390162665
Seller: lifeisantiquewhite

Comments: If this is legit, what's with the pebbled leather? It looks intentional, like tumbled Berkeley leather, did they just use what they had on hand?

As always, thanks so much!

Please authenticate the following:
Item: Becket Zip (?)
Seller and site where listed VntgfndsFinds on Etsy

Comments: This is actually a listing for three bags, only one of which is a Coach. Hope there is enough pictures to be able to tell. Thanks in advance.

It's a genuine Becket Zip 9920 from the early 1990s.

I'm a bit concerned about the condition of the leather. There's a lot more "texture" than normal especially around the top and sides, and if you look at the photo the top has a different texture than lower down on the bag. I'm wondering if the leather has been overstretched in those areas, maybe from overloading. It doesn't happen often with Coaches but it can.
