Dear authenticators.

been looking for a black taft bag. but the font in the serial number is way off what was authenticated as b6d 9980 before.

here's the listing
item: taft
seller:old tanery on etsy
https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/467538662/vintage-coach-taft-crossbody-black

thank you very much for your time.
Seller oldtanery

It's fake.

ETA: It's not oldtanery's (on etsy) first time being mentioned here with a fake.

ETA #2: the seller is struc2nd on ebay and has also had fakes:

I usually only authenticate older styles, but I noticed yesterday when I checked out Ebay's forums that someone had asked about a similar bag, and looking at that post again it looks like it's the same creed patch photo in both forums. I'd made copies for my photo files of the comps that the autheticator at Ebay posted and they're identical.

So if that's your bag, you're ok. I've known the Ebay poster who authenticated it for quite a while and she's really good at what she does, just check the number of "helpfuls" in her Ebay forum profile. If she says it's good, it's good. That's why I make a point of saving the photos she posts. There are a few others at Ebay's forum who claim to be authenticators but have made some pretty inexcusable mistakes, but she gets it right every time. I've been authenticating Coaches myself for probably 15 years but she's the best I've ever come across, especially with styles from the last 10 years or so. They're a lot more complicated than the vintage and classic styles I stick to, so I'm perfectly happy to let someone more experienced than myself handle the tough ones.

(Rumor has it that she may be a member here at tPF too, but you didn't hear that from me. )

Comments: What year was this made? Thank you.
It's authentic. It was made in the early 90s.

I received the bag today. I have a strange feeling about this bag. The zipper fabric lining is black and not the shade of the bag. I've never seen this kind of detail before. Can someone help me understand if this is real or not? Thank you.

Yes, it's real. That black or dark blue fabric backing on zippers was used a lot on vintage Coaches, and was called an "industrial zipper". The bag was already authenticated and the zipper was completely visible in the seller's photos. If it had been a problem, Whateve would have spotted it right away.
