And Im no longer going by the looks of it. My God this has been a rollercoaster.
I have been wondering about the status of the trip that you mentioned. It is a probably a good thing if you don't go but will be a terrible shame if you cannot get your money back. Sometimes hotels and car rental companies will relax their refund policies when something like this happens, might be worth contacting them and trying.

The spread of the virus across the US in the past week has made me determine a qualifying condition for purchase of a used Coach bag now will be whether it comes from a large city. I might hold off on purchasing ANYTHING from ebay or amazon etc until this all settles down.

A lot of the airlines, hotels and travel companies are becoming more lenient when it comes to cancellations and refund policies. I think they're concerned about their own liability should there be a case where someone gets sick after being told they're on the hook for payment.

Could someone please take a look at this travel bag. Several things about this creed are bothering me.

Comment: serial font wrong for 1994 G plant? Possibly prefix letters were transposed, should be G4B? Any authentic examples of style #0503 coming from the B plant in 1994?

I believe that one is okay.

Other opinions are welcome. (I've looked at a LOT of those bags in the last few days.)

I have this very similar creed in my files.

ETA: Although I'm not sure why the comp picture is distorted and elongated, I think the stamping is a match.

The font matches the 1994 B plant font so I think the prefix digits have been flipped. The barely visible "leatherware" fits the B plant stamp from early 1994.

It's definitely a C rather than a G. The very early 1994 G plant creeds were much sharper and were already using the new "skinny" font for the Coach logo.

ETA - Even though the second example isn't the same as BB's, this was the very beginning of the new "coded" serial number, so mistakes and anomalies weren't unusual.

NARNANZ, stay home and be safe.

The airlines started cutting way back on their scheduled flights over a week ago and have probably been cutting back ever since. Right now if everyone with advance tickets showed up at the gates, the airlines wouldn't have anywhere near the available flights to handle them all. Since they don't have anywhere near the number of seats available that they've already sold, they should (theoretically anyway!) have no problem issuing refunds.

Many of the attractions tourists have on their lists might also be closed. Restaurants and hotels might be short handed, Italy is still being hit hard by this so the situation is probably changing on a daily basis. It's a situation that's not in the control of any individual, business or even nation, so I think every person and every business is going to have to bite the bullet and start writing refunds. Right now the safety of travelers just can't be guaranteed.

Here's an example from this morning's Daily Beast:
https://www.thedailybeast.com/six-i...r-coronavirus?via=newsletter&source=DDMorning

"ROME—As least six inmates have died and at least 50 others have escaped from an Italian prison in the southern region of Puglia on Monday amid extensive rioting in 27 prisons across the country after visitation rights were curtailed due to the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus.

Riots broke out Sunday afternoon in half a dozen prisons after the Italian government enacted a draconian decree that has locked down 16 million people and curtailed movement across the entire country to try to contain the spread of COVID-19. By Monday, the riots had spread to nearly 30 detention facilities.

The number of coronavirus cases in Italy 9,172 on Monday, the highest number outside of Asia. At least 463 people have died in Italy with the virus, the second highest number of fatalities after China..."

And here's the link mentioned in the article, from March 8:
https://www.thedailybeast.com/itali...-milan-and-venice-over-coronavirus?ref=author

"ROME–The Italian government has approved an unprecedented decree that will block all unnecessary movement of nearly 16 million people to try to stop the rampant spread of the novel coronavirus. The decree applies to more than a dozen provinces in extended red zones in the north of the country. Anyone defying the order will be subject to criminal charges.

This draconian measure comes after Italian civil protection authorities reported an increase in cases from 4,636 to 5,883 across the entire country in a 24-hour period between Friday and Saturday. Deaths also increased during that time from 147 to 233.

The decree limits all movement, with very few exceptions, into and out of the northern region, which includes the cities of Venice, Milan, Parma, and Modena. It is unclear what will happen to foreign nationals and tourists still in those areas...

"The decree also extends the closure of schools in the northern red zones to at least April 3 and aims to shut down all gyms, theaters, museums, bars, clubs and churches. Some coffee bars and restaurants will be allowed to remain open on rotation if they can ensure that people are seated a meter, or a little over three feet, apart from each other..."

Bought off poshmark and is currently in my possession.
It's mainly for a rehab to get experience with it. It's a cute little flap bag. I'm thinking of cutting the strap off, it's not in great condition, and putting a chain strap on.
I've bought 3 different bags from this seller before and they've been authentic. Just making sure this one is before I jump in and rehab. Lol

Even with bags in your possession, when they were purchased online, include the link from which you purchased.

Very helpful, thank you both!

Once again, the depth of your knowledge and supporting evidence is amazing!

@Narnanz I've been thinking about you and your Italy trip this past week (I need to catch up on the Ban Island thread!) and am so sorry this has all kind of coalesced right in the middle of the trip you've been looking forward to for so long. I hope you do call up the hotels/airlines/agencies you've been working with to plan your vacation and see if they would honor either a refund or give you credit at their establishments so you can make the journey when things settle down a bit. I know some insurance companies don't cover pandemics but the individual establishments likely will want to recoup whatever they can from interested tourists, so it's worth calling to see what they're willing to do to work with you on this. They want you there as much as you want to go there, but they have to understand why you can't go right now. What a headache, though. I wish you the best of luck with all this mess. New-to-you Coach bags might help ease the pain.

Would someone be willing to take a look at this? Saw it at a value world and was curious-- but not curious enough to purchase. I did try to search the last four digits while I was in the store, but no luck.

I did my best with the pictures what with the bag being attached to the rack, but I understand if they aren't sufficient.
Thank you for your time!

It's authentic but searching the last 4 digits wouldn't have helped because it's a pre-1994 random serial number.
