Hello, I was looking at a bag on Poshmark and thrown a little by the # on the Creed. K2P-9525. I thought if the system started in 1994, 02 would indicate 2002. But wouldn’t just one digit suggest the 90s and 2 mean 1992 which would predate the 1994 system? The bag looks like I would expect otherwise. I couldn’t get the photos to paste, but this is a Poshmark listing with the title “Vintage Coach Black NYC Stewardess Bag 9525”
Thank you so much.

Read the Salearea Guides posted and Pinned to the top of every indexed page in this Coach Shopping thread for information on Creeds and on Serial numbers.

And the bag CAN'T be authenticated without a link and photos, see Post One in this thread and provide the required information.

The first one, the "Patricia's Legacy", is FAKE. The second one looks ok.

ETA - I enlarged and turned the creed pic you asked about in your previous post about the Willis, see my addition. It's definitely fake.

Must have been someone else regarding the Willis. I haven't inquired about one. Hopefully the correct person sees your note.

Goodnight everyone. Thanks again for your help.

I'm curious about opinions on this bag. I am not feeling the love!

I have examples of "R" plant creeds, some "definitely fake," some "probably fake" and some "possibly ok" but none examples of a creed with a definitely authentic R plant code.

I have this picture of the same style saved in my files as possibly okay. Then I have this Willis creed saved as probably fake because the frame of the creed is too square, although the bag didn't have any mistakes. I don't have any labeled as positively authentic except for Thailand creeds, starting in 1999.

ETA: By 1998, I believe the turnlock of 5180 should be the new square style, not what this bag has. Like this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-5180...722574?hash=item1f08913e4e:g:1-sAAOSwrTFd9bui
So I think it is fake.

I agree that it's fake, the turnlock shape is wrong for any 1998 briefcase.

There are no solidly authentic photos of any *8R- serials in my files. Some *7R- with US creeds may be ok, but there have been quite a few J7R- fakes. There's only one *8R- bag in my files, a C8R-9087 Metropolis Zip, and I only have the creed photo so it's not much help.
ETA - However, the serial in the fake briefcase we're talking about and the "possibly fake" 9087 Metropolis Zip I mentioned above seem to have the same exact serial prefix stamping, especially the "No", and the rest of the serial font also looks similar:

1998_R-plant-C8R-9087_Metropolitan Bag.jpg

!999, 2000, and 2001 "R" bags, almost all business or travel style, from Thailand seem to be ok except for one possible and obvious fake.

Except for the Thailand items with R serials, the R plant code bags probably need to be authenticated using something besides the serial number.

The Coach logo above the creed in the Willis seems like the letters should be flatter. The right side of the A should be thicker, and the first C looks like the serif is missing.

If you'd like more *8R for your files, I'll share mine, some of which I'm sure came from you.

ETA: Although named as 1998, I believe the brown one is 1996.

Both are authentic.

The first isn't a Willis. It's a station bag.

Second is a classic pouch.

Good morning! I am not having much luck finding any matching creed detail on this Coach Leather Garment Bag. Can you please assist? Thank you!
