Thank you! This had me baffled. Trying to apply what I've read in your guides and didn't quite know what to make of the extra indentations! Greatly appreciate it! :smile1:
Actually if you look closely at the one "without" the overstamp lines you will see that it really DOES have the overstamp lines, you can make them out faintly at the tops of the numbers.
THe seller probably stretched on the leather to take the photo and that combined with the angle made the marks less visible.

This has the scribble c pattern but around the creed, I can see signature c print. Does the 'rule' not apply to the scribble c pattern ? And is this genuine?

Bought a fake? PLEASE READ HERE!

The seller, vandak5757 does have a 14-day return policy but with her policy, buyer pays return shipping.

In the case of a fake, you shouldn't be out any money and the seller should either cover return shipping (if she wants it back) or allow you to destroy and dispose of the fake bag since she can't resell it anywhere.

BTW, vandak5757 also seems to have a "favorite" bidder:

The seller has already responded. I told her that coach never issued bags with 'S' serial number. She responded very well but i dont know if i should answer her question of my source of information on serial numbers...

Hi, I have sold many coach bags and have never heard that before. The bag was purchased yrs ago at a coach outlet store. I will however issue a full refund to your paypal acct. Where did you find the information that states coach never uses the S in their serial nos. I have sold others with an S in the serial no. andthey were true coach bags. I just issued you a refund for the handbag. You don't have to send the bag back. If you are not happy with it perhaps you can donate it. I am going to look in to this new information you have given me and contact a coach website to see if they have never used an S in their serial no. I do know for sure they did use an S in their older syles. Sorry about all of this. Thanks.

Hi BeenBurned

Wow, I never thought to check out "favorite" bidders as a red flag.
Could you expound on what that may mean exactly - just trying to add to my buying savvy.

Thanks in advance -

Direct her here specifically: http://www.ebay.com/gds/Coach-Creeds-the-Basic-Facts-/10000000030821024/g.html. That's an accepted eBay source for the origin of your information, and it happens to be the same source as you have here on TPF.
I believe the problem the experts pointed out to you was 'S' as a month code, not all 'S' on all creeds.
I'm not an authenticator, but bags of that supposed age (2003) usually have a bullet stamp if they came from an outlet.
And perhaps recommend Hyacinth's guides to her in general: http://www.ebay.com/gsr/i.html?uid=%22salearea%22

That bag is NOT an exception to the signature "rule." The bag is fake.

ETA: KRUCZKO has another fake: - DO NOT BUY FROM kruczko
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Blue-Purse-/221737517631?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33a096023f

The gold acetate mini sig lining is always fake, the creed is the wrong color and material, the stamping is wrong and the serial number is invalid, incomplete and in the wrong place.

Compare kruczko's creed to an authentic one:

Just did what you have recommended. Thank you all! I will just have to be careful next time. Be patient to do my research and ASK first the experts here. Oh my.

Thanks again. You have all been very helpful.

Certainly direct the seller here. If she cares about her ebay reputation and account, she'll do whatever it takes to make sure her listings comply with ebay policy (and federal trademark law).

Coach has used S as a PLANT code (for China), last character in the prefix of a serial number, but NEVER as a month code, the first letter of the prefix. If vandak5757 sold bags with an S month code, she should owe her buyers refunds.

And with regard to her statement that she bought it from the outlet, she's either mistaken about the source or lying. That bag didn't come from a legitimate Coach outlet though the internet is flooded with non-Coach "outlets."

ETA: BTW, I will commend the seller for issuing the full refund but her suggestion to donate it isn't one that I recommend. My guess is that that's how she ended up with her bag; someone donated it and although it's illegal even for thrift stores to sell fakes, it happens and buyers like you get scammed.

Sounds like....SOMEBODY...knows its fake. Otherwise they'd want the bag back. :busted
